I have always loved music and songs, it was my first love in life, and it will be my last love among others, like those closest to my heart.

While taking this snap a car stopped and the driver asked for directions. He was actually driving away from his desired destination! He was very glad he'd stopped to check if he was on the right road. Making a U-turn, he headed off in the opposite direction.

There's a word in the Bible that essentially means to make a U-turn. That word is "repentance", which is simply a turning from sin and a turning to God. It requires an acknowledgement that our sin is not just a problem for us, but it is an offence against Him.

Someone once noted that in order to go to hell, we just need to keep doing what we're doing. We simply need to stay on the road we're on. The problem is, that road will take us to hell and hell is not somewhere we really want to reach. In order to avoid it, we need to make a U-turn.

God... now commandeth all men every where to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world...

I realise that is the way most people have seen the Ross Bridge art, if they have even bothered to look at the bridge too closely. We all know how often the tourist experience is one viewed through the lens of a few selfies. Very often we are not actually "present" when in tourist mode. That's a tragedy in my view. I dare say quite a few locals still scratch their heads about the meaning of the bridge too.

But this work is far from meaningless. I hope I have shown that. But more than this, it is a call to recognise that no matter how dark our history may have been at times, the chance for redemption and renewal is there.

But, and this is a very important "but" that the Prophet Daniel from Ross wanted us to hear: We cannot renew ourselves as children of the light until we face our deeds as children of the darkness. There is no forgiveness without repentance if I can put it in distinctly Christian terms.

Daniel Herbert did not believe in cheap grace. His freedom was bought with a heavy price, but in the end he died a free man, a man whose conscience was clear.

I decided to put it to use and have a practice with the lights. A process made much simpler now due to having a zoom lens and a flippy screen.

Whilst the headshot was ok, I wanted to add another layer so I took the misty tree shot used for Riley's double. One in normal orientation and one flipped to form a zigzag pattern providing the dead space in the middle where I plonked my head.

I'm off to self flagellate with some birch twigs as repentance for using potatoshop.

The Aurora Borealis Northern Lights were spectacular tonight 10/05/2024 with Red,Blue, Green colors right over head with a radius close to Bootes spanning down west thru Leo and east thru Corona Borealis. Sabbath is from Friday evening to Saturday evening. The Sabbath is kept in the coming kingdom- Isaiah 66:23. Yeshua is Lord of the Sabbath. Gen 20:8-11) Don't let anybody judge you in keeping Sabbath, new moon etc. Colossians 2:16) The sabbath is perpetual from Genesis to the coming kingdom of Yeshua, the law also will go forth from Jerusalem. Feast of Tabernacles in the coming kingdom & passover- Feast of unleavened bread will all be observed/kept. Same as dietary laws Leviticus 11;7 & Isaiah 66:17 are all required to be kept when Yeshua returns.

Surrealist fantasy for a collage class I'm taking. "Pure Land" Buddhism is a Japanese sect that promises salvation for repentance. The sign is clear, but written in a language no one understands.

I should add that I don't have anything against Buddhists. This is just a collection of images that grab me in various ways. The location and camera information apply to only one of the images. The collage includes 18 images from 4 cities and 2 cameras.

Tragico destino

.

In quell'asfalto

assolato e

perennemente dissestato

l’indelebile sangue scorre

di….un giovane innocente che

dalla vita è stato derubato.

Disperate sono le grida

del genitore che

lascia scivolare via

dal suo straziato cuore

urla di un silenzioso dolore

per la tragica scomparsa

del suo prezioso Amore.

Odio o perdono, non sa

cosa provare per

quell’ingrato uomo che

con incoscienza

e con disumana violenza

glielo ha portato via

senza prestar soccorso

o mostrar pentimento.

Questo è….

il tragico destino

di tante anime innocenti a cui

la vita viene strappata

per un tragico epilogo

o forse, negligenza

dove non vi son lacrime

ne pentimento di chi

commette orribili reati e…

grazie a quelle leggi errate

non sarà mai

adeguatamente punito.

On that asphalt

sunny and

perpetually ruined

the indelible blood flows

of….an innocent young man who

of his life was robbed.

The cries are desperate

of the parent who

let it slide away

from his broken heart

screams of silent pain

for his tragic death

of his precious love.

Hate or forgiveness, he doesn't know

what to feel for

that ungrateful man who

with unconsciousness

and with inhuman violence

took it away from him

without providing help

or show repentance.

This is….

the tragic fate

of many innocent souls to whom

life is taken away

for a tragic epilogue

or perhaps, negligence

where there are no tears

nor repentance of whom

commits horrible crimes and…

thanks to those wrong laws

it will never be

adequately punished.

Der Buß- und Bettag in Deutschland ist ein Feiertag der evangelischen Kirche, der auf Notzeiten zurückgeht. Angesichts von Notständen und Gefahren wurde die ganze Bevölkerung zu Umkehr und Gebet aufgerufen. Seit Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wird ein allgemeiner Buß- und Bettag am Mittwoch vor dem Ewigkeitssonntag, dem letzten Sonntag des Kirchenjahres, begangen.

Dieses ist der Türbeschlag der Kapelle 13 , die am östlichen Ende der Mittelallee steht . Sie wurde in der typischen Klinkerbauweise aus den Zeiten des Baudirektors Fritz Schumacher 1928 errichtet und auch von ihm entworfen.

The Day of Repentance and Prayer in Germany is a holiday of the Protestant Church that goes back to times of need. In the face of emergencies and dangers, the whole population was called to repentance and prayer. Since the end of the 19th century, a general day of penance and prayer has been celebrated on the Wednesday before eternity Sunday, the last Sunday of the church year.

This is the door fitting of Chapel 13, which is located at the eastern end of Mittelallee. It was built in the typical clinker construction from the time of the building director Fritz Schumacher in 1928 and also designed by it.
