Seems the powers that be at my "workplace" have no sense of humour and wish to discuss the content of this set with me on Monday..........Smiles or fun NOT ALLOWED in there.........
To remove the lower claw while leaving the meat intact, open up the lower claw until you feel the feather like cartilage separate. But instead of pulling out the lower claw, twist the claw toward you, pushing it to the side of the claw. It should then slide off easily, leaving the meat behind.
Don't sweat it if you accidentally break off this small piece of meat.
Removing the head tube extentions past the lugs. After cutting them off I ground down the edges to be more square as the lugs weren't.
This is a familiar tool. As I remember them from my childhood I got curious and bought this one together with a few unused scraper hooks. This Skarsten model is apparently made for wallpaper scraping but works well enough on wood too. The removable hook can also be sharpened.

Earthquake damaged building I think is coming down and there is going to be a new boutique hotel going up soon. On my walk around the city January 15, 2014 Christchurch New Zealand.
I used the circle skirt tutorial to make a removable ruffled top for a simple jean-look shromper. I have a yellow top cut out as well that can be swapped out.
I thought this would give a summer shromper some versatility. Plus, a little extra frill on a baby girl is always welcome, hehe.

Here is the old bushing that needs to be removed. Note the split at about the 1 o'clock position. Some knock the bushing open here and pull it out with needle nose pliers. MikesXS has a how-to using a 11/32" drill bit and then a 23/64" bit to remove it.
drop them in boiling water for approx. 45 secs. then cool them in the sink (shown here) and the skins slip right off.

Individual bean leaves are removed at the petiole with scissors. 1/4 to 1/2 inch of petiole is left on the leaf to allow the leaf to be inserted into the underpad.
