Today at the French Broad River Park i saw that the park's cement slabs were tagged with "Art Removed." These slabs were where for the last two years the Winklers had worked hard despite the Asheville Cultural Art and Parks people to get the French Broad River Sculpture Festival up and running. It was a tremendous success, but they were asked to do something crazy like provide a flood-plan and other paperwork hassles so they've moved it this year to Woodfin. A loss for us in Asheville, but i'm glad it's still able to continue.
Will try to get to Woodfin to get shots of the sculptures.
Removing wallpaper is one of the worst experiences ever in remodeling.
Update 7/17: I've now completed about 8 hours in wallpaper removal. The bathroom that has 12 foot vaulted ceilings (papered from floor to the top) is finished and the waist high border around the master bedroom is 80% gone!
Progress is slow but I learn a new trick each time.
The fibreglass roof over our back 'porch' was totally destroyed by the sun and full of holes...so we've decided to remove it so at least the winter sun can reach into our lounge.

They removed the Fresnel lens from the tower of the Pigeon Point Light Station to do repairs to the lighthouse and the lens. The Fresnel lens is on display at the Pigeon Point Light Station.

During construction, the rail tracks were removed so the entire structure could be rebuilt. As the tracks were removed, they were numbered and many of them have been replaced in their original location. They tie the new park to its history and have been the inspiration for a unique landscaping plan.
