Removing wallpaper is one of the worst experiences ever in remodeling.
Update 7/17: I've now completed about 8 hours in wallpaper removal. The bathroom that has 12 foot vaulted ceilings (papered from floor to the top) is finished and the waist high border around the master bedroom is 80% gone!
Progress is slow but I learn a new trick each time.
The fibreglass roof over our back 'porch' was totally destroyed by the sun and full of holes...so we've decided to remove it so at least the winter sun can reach into our lounge.
Removed from Fort Marion, St. Augustine, Florida, by a reporter from the Tribune
Before the Tribune Tower was built, correspondents for the Chicago Tribune brought back rocks and bricks from a variety of historically important sites throughout the world at the request of Colonel McCormick. Many of these reliefs have been incorporated into the lowest levels of the building and are labeled with their location of origin. In all, there are 136 fragments in the building.

Using microwave radio was a good idea a few years ago but we have now moved to Gigabit Ethernet over fibre to replace the 155Mbps ATM radio network. Today the antenna was removed from the building - the end of a (short) era.

OK so this is not great. Those cloning and healing tools are a lot more difficult than they look in the you tube tutorials. And I don't seem to be getting something right about the soft blur.

Removing the remains of Cleeve Weir in January 1970.
The remains of Cleeve weir were removed in January 1970, and the river dredged up to Marlcliff in early 1970. The land drainage requirements of the River Authority precluded reinstatement of the original navigation levels and hence the new lock and a weir, at ‘low summer level’, were built at Marlcliff, where a marl slab provided a natural step in the river level.
This photograph is one of a series showing the construction of the navigation works for two periods during the ‘restoration’. The first period covers May 1969 to the end of July 1970, during which time the first three locks; George Billington, Harvington (Robert Aickman) and Marlcliff (I.W.A.) were built. The second period was June 1971 to June 1972 which spanned the construction of Barton (Elsie & Hiram Billington), Luddington (Stan Clover) and Stratford (Colin P. Witter) Locks.
The Upper Avon from Evesham to a junction with the Southern Stratford Canal, in Stratford on Avon, was restored to through navigation by the Upper Avon Navigation Trust between 1969 and 1974, when it was formally re-opened by the Queen Mother. The navigation had been abandoned in the 19th Century and very little of the former navigation works remained. It was made navigable again by building nine new locks and three new weirs and by dredging a substantial length of the river to provide a navigable depth.
This is the new sink + cupboard combo we bought, what, two years ago? It was on sale, dammit.
Anyways, an expected problem: the thing was designed to be place snugly against the wall. The sink has 2 holes where you add screws that directly attach to drywall! And so is the cupboard! Ouch, I have remove the baseboard for the width of the thing.
Also, the drain hole is misaligned with the p-trap. I have to move the p-trap towards the wall by an inch. As you know in plumbing you can't "move" anything, you have to redo (because everything is glued down with all the fragrant adhesives).. so, a new p-trap is in order.. sigh.
