Reminded me of a propeller on a ship going through the water at high speed. Created with different shapes of light. No photo shop, and is one single image taken over the span of 195 seconds using some light painting brushes instead of regular paint.

Reminds me of a Spike Milligan joke..."My dog has no nose" - "How does he smell?" "Horrible!!"

Reminds me that I need to pull some weeds!

XXOO

Coney Island, Luna Park

Took this as it reminded me of a Peter Brook painting. No man and his dog in the shot but there was a lass and her pooch behind the lens!

🎶This is a song about Peter Brook’s paintings by local folk singer Roger Davies youtu.be/3cL6tEJqze4

Reminded me of a Monet painting, one of his better ones

She loved red Gladiolus and had them grow on the side of her house that were taller then me.

This reminds me of something from a scary movie where we see one image of the real thing and behind it we see a shadow with a different shape. But that's neither in this case. This branch is part of a tree that is under a bridge. I caught it at a point where part of the branch is in the light and the rest is in the shadow of the bridge. The background is the concrete bridge support. I got lucky on this one. It's one of my personal favorites and it was east to process. I spent more time typing this paragraph than I did developing this image. :) (The Dalles Area IMG_1977.jpg)

Chorrera

(900 – 300 a.C.)

Chorrera is the most widespread culture in Ecuador. It represents the antecedent of later culture that flourished during the Period of Regional Development.

It was a markedly hierarchical society with specific specialization’s as evidenced by the extraordinary technical and artistical quality of Chorrera pottery. Fruits, animals and human beings were represented with numberless details, which makes this ceramic tradition unique in the native archaeology of Ecuador.

The most interesting piece is the whistle-bottle that reproduces the sounds of different animals when water is poured into it and the air contained in the bottle moves through a resonant box. Not less extraordinary is the decorative technique of iridescence whose quality has not been surpassed by any other native culture in Ecuador.

Reminded me of the Woody Guthrie song Little seed.

Not that I see anyone intentionally planting dandelion seeds but thankfully they survive.

Reminds me of a good morning :-) sometime in the past. Somewhere across the mountains

Reminds me of a few of my exes. Except this one is cuter.

This reminded me of the great Sherpa Tenzing, who was a Nepalese-Indian Sherpa mountaineer. He was one of the first two people to reach the summit of Mount Everest, which he accomplished with Edmund Hillary on 29 May 1953.

Born: 29 May 1914, Khumbu

I remind everyone, yet again, that our Mississippi is not that big and mighty Mississippi but the one in Eastern Ontario near Ottawa.. I was surprised to see that amount of ice when I ventured to nearby Appleton on Sunday, which was even more completely covered beyond the bridge/causeway in the photo. As you can see, however, it was a clear day, and with the sun, it wasn't terribly cold either.

Reminds me of a Shaggy dog

Reminded me of Louise Bourgeois‘s spiders, and the War of the Worlds, and all those circularized landscapes. Ok, Lisette Model and countless Giants have included themselves in reflections, long before selfies became cliches. Nothing more to say in that genre? Maybe.

Did you know Al Jolson and Doc Watson recorded—very different—songs with this title? Me neither.

Perspective corrected, then cropped just so, flipped. Velvia, boosted in post. Happy Sliders Sunday! My #WPDPeople entry into Flickr’s World Photography Day contest.

This Arctic Skua reminded me of the conductor of an orchestra. He had been bathing in a fresh water pool and was just flapping himself dry. This photo also shows the white wing flashes and deep barrel chest characteristic of this species. In summer they don't catch their own food like most seabirds, but mug other seabirds for food they are carrying back in their crops. When chased panicking seabirds will regurgitate their last meal and the skua will gather it all in mid air with astonishing dexterity. I photographed this one on St Kilda where I had another encounter with a breeding Arctic Skua. When I walked high on the hill one Skua called at me to signal its displeasure as it had a chick somewhere nearby. I didn't want to disturb it so headed back down and as soon as I turned my back I felt a rush of air as it divebombed me. This one wouldn't attack while I was watching so I then had to walk backwards out of its territory. But one bird on Svalbard wasn't so timid and physically struck me as I was taking a photograph of it charging me. Here's the photo just before impact: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/9459817588/in/photolist

One final thing; Skuas have webbed feet like most seabirds but there is an optical illusion going on here that makes the feet look unwebbed. That is because the webs were almost submerged, but the "middle toe" is a reflection of the leg making the toes look normal.

Reminds me of a Loch or a Finger Lake!

……It is certainly cold at the moment but these Roses in the front garden seem to think otherwise!!! Taken on my phone for my iPhoneaday 365 and edited in Lightroom. Alan:-)……
