Friends, In a release brought out recently to prove that the Left is anti-national, the M3VP has come up with a nlllM of inaginative lies-fran "they opposed the.celebratio~ of 151" August and 26"' January" to "they supported Osana bin laden". But the most telling is the clam that the Left does not accept the ~olour. ThiS is telfing because ~ is not the left but the Sangh Giroh itself that does not accept the tricoiO\I'-claiming that the bhagwa dhw;.Â¥ is the true national flag. This rejection of the tricolour is only symbolic of the rejection of the secular and anti-imperialist spirit of otr freedom struggle-in which . the RSS had no part to play. The vision of a secular, democratic and progessive India is not srmething that the RSS betieves in. On the contrary, as the VICe Ptesidenta~ candidate from the MVP last year-who is now their Presidential candidattr-declared in that year's election UGBM: the Sangh Parivar believes that India is a hindu rashtra Exactly what Bal Thackrey has been saying recently. The contow-s of this hindu rashtra of the Sangh Giroh's creams has become increasingly clear in the past few years of BJP rule. Golwalkar had v.Kitten approvingly of Hitler's 'final solution' for the Jews, and today his disciples in power are putting that teachin~ into_Practice in ~ujarat where huncieds of innocent members of the minority canmunity have lost their lives and many tines more have become refugees In their own land In the course of what can only be described as a state-sponsored genocide. And it is not only the religious minorities who will be at the receiving end. Given the Brahminical and patriarchal codes that form the basis of the Sangh's social vision, women, Dalits, adivasis too will be second class citizens at besl In the hindu rashtra that the likes of Giriraj Kishore want to build. it will not be a crme to lynch frve Dalit youth based on the mere rumour that they were slaughtering a cow. The Sangh's reactionary social agenda dovetails perfectly with mperialism's designs-it being the intention of both to take away the democratic rights of the people and to disrupt their unity. So abject is the surrender of the RSS-BJP to US-led mperialism that~ has come out in eager support of US policies like the NMD or the doctrine of unilateral strikes on which even the staunchest allies of the US have dithered. In the campus, the M3VP echoes George Bush by claiming that the Left supports Osama in Laden since it does not support the US's 'war on terror'. However. while taking a consistent stand against terrorism, the Left had not hesitated in exposing the 'war on terror' for what it really was-an attempt to strengthen imperialist hegemony over oil-rich Central Asia and to deflect attention from the economic crisis at home. The facts have borne us out-the US war in Afghanistan, which devastated the lives of the innocent civilian population of Afghanistan is now at an end after the installation of a puppet regime, even though Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar remain untraced. The next target is Iraq, and the Pentagon already has the composition of the next puppet regime ready on its ~les. Under the BP-Ied regime. the attack on the common people's livelihood and the loot of public assets through the pursuit of neo-liberal policies , has intensified. Corruption under this regime has reached new heights with the BJP and the NOA partners continuing shamelessly in offiCe even as scam after scam gets exposed. We were witness, on national television. to the president of the self-proclained 'nationalist' BJP accepting bribes from a supposed defence contractor. We found the nationalist BJP leaders making money out of the procurement of coffins for soldiers who laid down their lives in Kargil. UTI. petrol pump. land.... , the list of scams is endless. And alarge number of benefiCiaries have been RSS activists: with an MVP leader from JNU, who is now the Delhi State secretary of his organisation too getting apiece of land for himself in Delhi. .
As is to be expected from a fascistic organisation, faced with growing discontent against its anti-people policies. the RSS has been speaking in different tongues. On one hand is the aajivan swayamsevak Prime Minister who declares thatreforms are irreversible and on the other is the Swadeshi Jagaram Manch which makes noises againstliberalisation. Following the same pattern, the N3VP on our campus brings out pamphets a~air1st the NDA .
government's policies of liberalisation and privatisation of education while at the same time staying away from struggles agai~st privatisation and inviting ministers from the NOA government to address its election meetings. HowevP.r, people across the country can see through thiS ruse and t.he people have given a clear verdict against the RSS-BJP in all recent assembly elections and by-elections-even in states like Uttar Pradesh and JaJ'Tlmu and Kashmir where the BJP had tried its best to fan up communal passions. The N3VP too has faced a rout in students'.union election in unive~ities. like _Himachal Pradesh University. Hyderabad Central University and Punjab University and we appeal to the student commumty to make JNU the next hl thiS sene;;. .
In our own university we have faced the impact of the policies of privatisation and saffronisation and the RSS's communal attack. The last JNUSU, led by the SFi-AISF, mobilised the student community in struggles against these multiple attacks, defending the democratic campus ethos and resisting the attempts to privatise and saffronise our university through theAdministration's X Plan and the attempt to appoint a RSS Vice-Chancellor. At the same time significant achievements were achieved on issues of immediate student concern like the library, computer and internet facilities. hostel faciities etc. It IS very unfortunate that in an election being held after such major shifts in the national political situation and struggles in our o'M'l university, organistions like the NSUI and AI SA have not engaged in a serious poHtical deb_at!l. confining themselves to se~sat!onal!sm and raising non-issues. This shows not only their complete ideological bankruptcy but is also a re·nectton of the1r rnactivlty over the year and their ahenat1on from students struggles. .
While reaffirming its commitment to continuing the struggles against privatisation, saffronisation and communalism, the SFI-AISF would like to put forward an alternative agenda for JNU as an university where students from different sections of society have the fullest possible opportunity to engage in critical academic enquiry. A university where there are institutional mechanisms for financial and academic assistance to students from deprived sections, where students have access to adequate library and laboratory facilities, where students participate in academic decision making and where obcurantist courses like 'Human Consciousness' have no place. We would like to seek amandate from the student community to struggle for this vision and to send a message that the ABVP's politics of communal barbarism has no place in JNU. .

Rats are no strangers to rejection, but Remy, a rat who longs to be a great chef, has more than the usual obstacles to overcome. His remarkable sense of smell and genius for combining flavors puts him head and shoulders above most human chefs. However, in the rat world he's resigned to a life of being the "poison sniffer," using his unique talent to pick out the "safe" garbage for his family to eat. Remy hates the idea of stealing and eating garbage at all; he considers himself a maker, not a taker. When he's not out scrounging around for the few gourmet scraps he can safely get his hands on, he is busy poring over his most prized possession, a battered cookbook by the late, great chef Auguste Gusteau. When circumstances literally drop him in the kitchen of Gusteau's, his idol's world-famous restaurant in Paris, France, Remy finds himself living his dream of cooking, albeit unconventionally, in a real kitchen. RATATOUILLE is directed by Academy Award®-winning Brad Bird ("The Incredibles") and co-directed by Academy Award®-winning Jan Pinkava ("Geri's Game").
This photo was rejected from the Dalicious 6: Occult lineup for some reason or another.
D&D with one person? While it's a nice shot (or would have been with better lighting) it just doesn't say "D&D" to me, let alone "occult".
from www.gardening-for-wildlife.com/butterflies-mating.html
Unreceptive females, including those that have already mated or are the wrong species will signal that they are unavailable by spreading their wings and raising their abdomen high, making coupling impossible.
Males mate numerous times during their short lives. Most females mate only once.
A typical female butterfly will lay about 100 eggs in her lifetime.
