On my regular way home there is normally no real opportunity to think about my project. But I now started to put some spare time inbetween the metro and the bus. And I got lucky straight away. I had about 20 minutes until my bus departure and Kolja made his way over to me.With his guitar (sad that I couldn't capture it in the regular frame) and his hat, he stood out of the crowd. He was keen for my project straight away and pleasantly chatted with me. Koljar just played as a street musician just around the corner. As a music event manager he is completly into music.

La creación de Regulares se debió en gran parte a la protesta de la población civil en la península, secundada por la prensa, por la participación de soldados españoles en la Zona del Protectorado. Los antecedentes como unidad con tropas indígenas se encuentran en la formación de la Compañía de Moros Mogataces de Orán y en otras unidades, como la Milicia Voluntaria de Ceuta y la de Tiradores del Rif. La misión de estas fuerzas fue la de vanguardia y combate en todo tipo de terreno y operaciones, lo que ha llegado a incluir emboscadas, desembarcos y lucha en alta montaña a través del tiempo. Se exigía a sus mandos tener muy buenos conocimientos sobre la manera de llevar la guerra por parte del enemigo del Rif y del foco rebelde de la región de Yebala (donde se encuentra Tetuán).
Al poco tiempo de su creación tomaron el nombre de Fuerzas Regulares Indígenas de Melilla, cuyo jefe fue el teniente coronel de caballería Dámaso Berenguer Fusté. Los Regulares se convirtieron muy pronto en un cuerpo de élite del Ejército Español.

Starring Vincent Price, Giacomo Rossi-Stuart, Antonio Corevi, Emma Danieli, Franca Bettoja, Christi Courtland, Carolyn De Fonseca, and Umberto Raho. Directed by Libaldo Ragona and Sidney Salkow. I'm not sure why this film is as underrated as it is.

This is an amazing, depressing and in many ways brilliant film based on the Richard Matheson classic novel "I Am Legend". Vincent Price effectively conveys the terror and despair of being the last living man on an Earth that is now overrun with vampires and/or zombies. The depiction of Price's day to day bleak existence is a moving and powerful thing to behold and the continual menace of the hordes of zombies is creepy in the same way as was later depicted in "Night of the Living Dead". In fact, as noted by others here, one can not watch the scenes where the zombies lay siege to Price's boarded up house and attack his car without recognizing how close these scenes would later be copied by George Romero in his classic zombie films. If you are a fan of horror film history or just looking for a classic and unique film with an interesting story, track down this lost gem.
Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) is the last man on earth, as far as he can tell. A plague killed everyone else on the planet several years ago. He was immune to it, and can only guess why. Vampires that were formerly human attack Morgan's home every night
Morgan's days are spent shoring up his home against the vampire hordes, picking up supplies in the abandoned city, and eliminating his enemies by searching out and destroying the bloodsuckers while they sleep. He maintains mirrors and garlic strands around his house and fashions stakes on his lathe to use on the walking dead. He also conducts experiments on the bacteria that caused this plague in an effort to find a cure.
He remembers the early days of the plague, when his former friend and lab partner, Ben Cortman (Giacomo Rossi-Stuart) tried to warn Morgan of what was to come. Morgan dismissed his fears and continued life as usual.
The vampires outside Morgan's home are led by Ben Cortman, who has made it his personal mission to kill Morgan. "Morgan, come out!" is the nightly chant that torments him.
He remembers the disease blanketing the earth. His daughter Kathy (Christi Courtland) fell ill and went blind. His wife Virg (Emma Danieli) was horrified and wanted to get help, but any reported case of plague would result in immediate government pickup, death and cremation of the body. Before leaving for work, Morgan ordered Virg not to call anyone, but, tormented by the little girl's cries, she did. As Morgan arrived home, he saw the government truck leaving. Kathy was gone.
His solitary existence is painful. He gets on the radio every day, calling out on different frequencies, trying to find another human still alive. In his tortured dreams, he remembers when his wife returned from the dead to seek his blood, after she succumbed to the plague. Because he couldn't bear to throw her body in the cremation pit where others were taken, he buried her himself--and when she came back from the dead as a vampire, he had to drive a stake through her heart.
One day, to his amazement, he finds a dog. He is so excited to have a companion that he overlooks several signs that all is not right with the animal. Eventually, he realizes that the dog is also infected and that he must kill it.
While burying the dog, Morgan encounters Ruth Collins (Franca Bettoia), a woman walking through the park in the sunshine! Even though he's suspicious of her story of how she survived, he takes her home with him. She reacts violently to a garland of garlic cloves he brings out, but she claims that she's always had a weak stomach. Morgan catches her injecting herself with something, and she's forced to admit that she too is infected but that she and others like her have developed a serum that lets them control the disease. By regular injections, they keep the disease in check: they are able to live in the daylight and do not turn to vampirism. Ruth also warns Morgan that her people are coming for him because, in his zeal to kill vampires, he has been killing people like her who have the disease under control. Morgan injects Ruth with some of his own blood and cures her of the disease completely. His blood is the permanent cure that Ruth and others like her have been searching to find.
At this moment, however, the soldiers come for him. Before Ruth can tell them that Morgan has found a cure, he is surrounded and shot. As he stumbles to his death, he tells the crowds that they are freaks and that he is "the last man on earth"!
Dumping of wastes at sea - regular meeting opens
Parties to the treaties which regulate the dumping of wastes at sea are meeting at IMO Headquarters this week (12-16 October). The meeting is expected to agree updated guidelines for the application of the de minimis (exempt) concept when it comes to radioactive wastes, to include recognition of effects of radiation on marine fauna and flora. The meeting will also review ongoing work in relation to the disposal of mine tailings, marine geoengineering, development of a strategic plan to encourage ratification of the London Protocol and the 25-year scientific review of all radioactive wastes and other radioactive matter. The Thirty-seventh Consultative Meeting of Contracting Parties to the London Convention and the tenth Meeting of Contracting Parties to the London Protocol were opened by IMO Secretary-General Koji Sekimizu. The meeting is being chaired by Captain Ibraheem Olugbade (Nigeria).
Soldiers and Families of 4th Battalion "Regulars", 6th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, hosted an Infantry Ball at Fort Bliss, Texas, Sept. 13. The purpose of a military ball is to instill espirit de corps and camaraderie across the formation.

For regular visitors to my photostream, I apologise for the lack of individual captions in this set. Normally I to try to add a proper write-up for each image, but this batch was professionally shot for the event organisers and in such cases it's more important to get material online quickly for promotional purposes.
The Great Knaresborough Bed Race has been a firm fixture of this quiet Yorkshire countryside town for 46 years now. Once a year, over 90 teams exert a great deal of effort into designing and decorating beds, which are first paraded and then raced through the town in a madcap dash which culminates in crossing the River Nidd to reach the finish line. It is institutional British eccentricity at its very finest, and a thoroughly fun event to attend.
This year, participants were given a fancy dress theme of “Olympic Nations”, a topic with broad scope which allowed teams to get imaginative with their costumes! The images seen in this set were shot on behalf of Knaresborough Lions Club, who are responsible for organising the event. For more information, click here to visit their website.

On Saturday, October 17, Alamo Drafthouse and Cartoon Network hosted a special screening of REGULAR SHOW: THE MOVIE featuring a post-film Q&A with creator JG Quintell and voice actors William Salyers (Rigby) and Sam Marin (Pops, Benson and Muscle Man) exclusively to Alamo Drafthouse Victory members.
JG and company were in person at our Austin location, and the entire event was live streamed to Alamo Drafthouse locations in Ashburn, Virginia; Houston and Richardson, Texas; Littleton, Colorado; and Yonkers, New York.
Guests at all locations were be able to submit questions to JG and the gang via Twitter and everyone received a REGULAR SHOW poster of their very own to take home!
