Registered on the first day of K-regs, 1st August 1992 this elderly Rover 216 SLi is seen here still providing stately service on a home counties driveway in September 2017. When new, you could imagine it being purchased as a runabout and sharing a driveway with a Rover 800 or similar product. Although it has had a number of keepers, it had only covered 34,000 miles at it's last MOT in November 2016 with MOT check showing it had only covered 8000 miles in 2005 when already 13 years old. With MOT and tax expiry coming up soon, one wonders what the future holds for this vehicle as it appears a little tatty, missing it's rear boot trim / spoiler.
A DVLA MOT Check in March 2020 shows the vehicle is still taxed and tested.

Tomorrow is mine! This build is based on the first Bayonetta video game, more specifically this part. I wanted to do the whole angel but didn't have the money/parts. I liked when it gets its head ripped off so... yeah. Notice Madame butterfly has the wings on her hands, finally found a use for those.
Bayonetta and all related names, characters and the like are property of Nintendo and Hideki Kamiya.

The Guaranty Building, which is now called the Prudential Building, was designed by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler, and built in Buffalo, New York.
Sullivan's design for the building was based on his belief that "form follows function". He and Adler divided the building into four zones. The basement was the mechanical and utility area. Since this level was below ground, it did not show on the face of the building. The next zone was the ground-floor zone which was the public areas for street-facing shops, public entrances and lobbies. The third zone was the office floors with identical office cells clustered around the central elevator shafts. The final zone was the terminating zone, consisting of elevator equipment, utilities and a few offices.
The supporting steel structure of the building was embellished with terra cotta blocks. Different styles of block delineated the three visible zones of the building. Sullivan was quoted as saying, "It must be every inch a proud and soaring thing, rising in sheer exultation that from bottom to top it is a unit without a single dissenting line."

East Los Angeles, California

The Pan American National Bank is the oldest Latino-owned bank in California. Established in 1964, the bank is emblematic of the economic growth of the Mexican American community in East Los Angeles after World War II. The building’s most distinctive feature is its five-panel multicolored mosaic tile mural, installed in the upper portion of each of the concrete arches. Each panel illustrates a different scene, drawing on a vocabulary of Pre-Columbian motifs. The five-panel mural, entitled “Our Past, Our Present, and Our Future,” is one of the earliest examples of the art form in East Los Angeles and influenced the rise of the Chicano mural movement in the 1960s and 1970s.
The Pan American National Bank was established as a response to the absence of community-based financial institutions for the rapidly growing Mexican and Mexican American population. Its primary purpose was to serve the under-represented and under-served consumers and small businesses of East Los Angeles. The founders believed that access to culturally sensitive financial services was the basis for increasing the community’s political power, economic independence, and overall standard of living. When Pan American National Bank opened its doors, it aimed to reverse exclusionary banking practices, including redlining, and traditional methods of assigning credit ratings, which effectively barred most Mexican Americans from receiving home and small business loans. It was the first bank in California to provide full bilingual services in English and Spanish, and it emphasized financial literacy for its customers. As the bank grew, it became a critical commercial anchor within East Los Angeles and bolstered the economic power of its Mexican American patrons.
In addition to the bank’s success as a vital commercial space for the Latino community, the co- founder Romana Acosta Bañuelos was a significant Mexican American entrepreneur who later became the first Latina Treasurer of the United States. Since the bank’s origins, Bañuelos was the only woman to serve on the original twelve member board of directors. Mrs. Bañuelos’ entrepreneurial skills expanded beyond the bank system as she was also the founder and chief executive of Ramona’s Mexican Food Products, Inc. Her company was established in 1949 and grew from a modest tortilla factory into the largest Mexican food wholesale firm in the country by the 1970s. Throughout her career she traveled across California as an advocate for greater gender and racial equity in the financial industry after her service as Treasurer.
