views taken above the cloud line are a refreshing change.

“I learned what is obvious to a child. That life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time. That each day should be spent finding beauty in flowers and poetry and talking to animals. That a day spent with dreaming and sunsets and refreshing breezes cannot be bettered.”

Catching up-SOOC

After a morning of picking Chanterelles in The foothills of the Cascades (near Monroe) I found this small waterfall to shoot, the mist and shade was a welcome relief from tromping thru the woods with a 5-gallon bucket full of mushrooms & heavy camera backpack on. Of course I was rewarded later with all the shrooms I picked for my wife.

a hot day Liverpool Giants festival 2014

At Sarre Windmill, just sitting down to have a drink and rest just before doing the next lot of photo shoots, i decided to have a play with the camera and see what i could come up with. Apart from the camera bag, this is the only other thing on the table. So i positioned the glass and can next to each other and angled the camera to get the best shot. This is my result.

It's so quiet here. I like it. I have been wandering in this great forest for a few days now. It's dark, and because of all the shadows of the trees, it's also a good place to avoid the heat of the desert. I heard the sound of running water and I rushed towards it. I am now sitting near a little creek, the water refreshes me. And I have found some mushrooms, but I think I'll have to make a fire. I'm sure they will taste better then. And maybe I'll make a camp here because I'm not in the mood for searching other people in this god-forsaken hole.

It's too quiet here. There aren't any animals, I think. But that can't be possible, because there are trees, and plants, and water. And I don't have the feeling anymore of being followed. That's good. I guess. I like it here. But I feel alone.

A refreshing fruit to munch on. Juicy but not much flavour. Read more here.

Sky Ferreira

Taking up her support slot for Miley Cyrus once more, this time on the European leg of her Bangerz tour, American singer-songwriter, model, and actress Sky Ferreira brought her blend of electropop-rock to London’s O2 Arena.

Plagued with sound issues and even having to start one song over again, Ferreira wasn’t best received by the Cyrus crowd, much to their loss in my opinion. Ferreira’s live performance brought a rougher, rockier edge to her material over the studio record, drawing our her rock growl.

Still, Ferreira played seven songs from her debut studio album Night Time, My Time including 24 Hours and Heavy Metal Heart, using the length of Cyrus’ extended stage just once to reach out into the audience.

A refreshing musical talent ahead of Cyrus’ pop/hip-hop trash that was to follow.
