- www.kevin-palmer.com - Ever since I saw the strange name (Leaky Mountain) on a map, I was intrigued by it. Located in the northern Bighorn Mountains, I could find little information about this waterfall online and no pictures. But I soon realized the reason: there's no easy way here. On the last weekend of April I took advantage of the warm weather and set out to find it. From the trailhead on the MT/WY border it's a 19 mile roundtrip hike, and I camped downstream. The next morning I climbed to the base, but there was no trail to follow, with steep terrain and thick vegetation lying between me and the falls. Numerous thorns, snowbanks, loose talus, water crossings and mud all had to be navigated around as I followed my ears to the source of the stream. Snowmelt and groundwater seeps into the limestone cliffs from above. Cold, pure spring water gushes out of the side of the mountain in multiple cascades. Behind me stretched out a panoramic view of Little Horn Canyon and the higher snowcapped peaks. With all the difficulty in reaching this place, once I finally got here I didn't want to leave.
My friend Brent and I finished with one last stranger. The weather was Hot (with a capital H) and the Buddy Brew Coffee location sounded refreshing. It is located in a covered breezeway with good light, and a breeze. Did I mention it was hot?
One sole young lady was seated drinking her coffee, so I introduced myself and our intent. She looked wary and said, “That sounds kinda weird!” So I further explained and showed her my Photostream on the phone. She reluctantly agreed. Her shirt was wrinkled, but I noticed the word 'Theater'. “Oh yes, I work at the Florida Studio Theater" (one block away).
Julie is from Minnesota, and got a degree in Theater Arts from the University of North Dakota. If one place sounds colder than Minnesota, it's North Dakota. Working at the Florida Studio Theater gives Julie a great source for networking. She hopes to move to the upper east coast or California, where there are more defined seasons.
After she got used to us, she warmed up and was very pleasant. Brent and I was surprised that a theater person would be reticent about being photographed.
Thank you, Julie, for allowing me to photograph you for my ongoing project.

Today I have come up with a most refreshing and aromatic filter coffee post, apt for the lazy mornings. Though I have shared more than 150 posts, this South Indian filter coffee recipe is my most favourite among all. I myself don’t know how I missed this recipe and I can say it’s a very delayed share. May be approximately, when I was 10 years old, it was the first time I tasted coffee. Till today I couldn’t stop drinking coffee, at least 2 times a day that too before 7 am in the busy mornings also. If I am not able to drink it in my prime time, I feel like my head is going to burst, daily ritual should be done in the right time for me. It can also be called as filter kaapi, degree coffee also, preparing perfect filter coffee comes by practice, but its not a big job. For beginners, please read the tips section before hopping to the recipe….
I can't help but feel refreshed when looking at this picture.
Used a macro lens adpater on my 50mm f1.8 to take this.
All in all, I'm very happy with it for an indoor rainy day shot!
I've been working in our garden ALL day so after finishing for the day I thought I would have a nice refreshing drink!
It was the only bit of blue I had in the garden!!
