Bronze figurine of bull and leaping acrobat. Minoan, Crete, 1550 BC - 1450 BC. South-west Crete, Greece. British Museum, London, England. Copyright 2017, James A. Glazier. The poor lighting, awkward angles and highly reflective and dirty glass at the British Museum make seeing anything, let alone photographing it a challenge. Ironic that many Italian museums now have much better display conditions than the British Museum.

There's an exhibition of Friedrich Hechelmann's work in Schloss Isny (former St. George's Abbey). Here, a reflection of some of his illustrations of the Bible can be seen.
After having built my own lens hood and mini-softbox (before buying anything) I decided to put a broken umbrella to good use today. I simply taped plain printer paper to the inside, sawed off part of the handle and stuck it in the grip of my tripod.
Like the reflective, thoughtful look of Stephan on this capture. I think the strong contrast and lowered saturation fits well to the mood of the image.

The fog took forever to lift but when it did I was rewarded with a beautiful sunny winter morning in gorgeous bush surrounds.
This shot was initially intended to include a seagull atop the pier pole in front and on pushing the shutter release the bird had flown the coop so to speak . A part of its wing can be seen as it leaves the scene directly above the two girls .. Those reflections are good none the less ..

Jennifer (Jen's Photography) and I met up with Duane Rapp on our way to the book (Capture my Chicago) unveiling this past Friday. The only post processing done was size and sharpness.
