Week 10
From regular to unexpected. This week started out pretty normal. A couple days out with the bros here and there with work taking up my days. It was overall pretty relaxed and things were going well. I did have a lot on my mind due to being in a very story driven mindset which happens when I am writing a screenplay. When Friday hit though, I was not expecting my week to take that kind of turn. Someone very close to me has made a decision about our relationship and while I support their decision, it has started to hit me these passed couple days since. Its almost like a small emptiness inside where they once were. Now that person and I are still on good terms which I am very grateful for, its just a change that needs to be made. I know that everything will be ok. Its just going to take some getting used to.
I can't wait to see what the next week will bring!
I'm slowly photographing slides of my old work, or the actual work when I have it. I'm struck by how I was obviously working on ideas that I am carrying out in photography, 15 years later. I hadn't seen it before.
Glendalough upperlake at sunrise may 25th 2017 . Shared the lake with a Gent of a fella doing a time lapse , had a right laugh with the place to our selves , and when you have the lake to just about your self , it is just magical . This is , my first shot of the lake from this well know viewpoint , alway had a habit of hiking up high and shooting it from high , I see now why it's so loved from this angle when it's calm and quiet . .

Aurora looks through her travel journals on a cold winter's day...nice to remember!!

Bristol Zoo - if anyone is good at identifying species of monkey, feel free to go ahead and comment what he/she is...
Another shot from last weekend. I sure wish this one would of been a RAW file but it still serves it's purpose. I think I may be back to this location at some point to shoot. LOVE the reflections I was able to find!

In honor of a disappointing football season for the Iowa Hawkeyes - and their last game of the season today - a disappointing photo of a Hawkeye statue.
I'm not past making a self-portrait, although I prefer to take other types of photos. Most of the time, my selfies are because there is no one else in the house to shoot (not literally, but in the photographic sense). I realize my good looks needs to be recorded for posterity, but because of my humbleness and shy demeanor, I sometimes balk at the opportunities. Anyway, I was experimenting with a mirror the other night when I took this.
Playing around with my new lens, I found this mallard pair (Anas platyrhynchos) at Hahn Horticulture Garden.
New buildings going up in town offer up new views. I was out shooting some other stuff and then happened to look behind me, to see this building being lit up by the sunset and was really taken by the colours. I guess its a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings!
I went out for a walk this afternoon as I had forgotten to get my wife a Christmas Card ... silly me!! Lucky for me and before it started to rain again I caught this reflection on the paving!!

Taken whilst walking around the engine yard at Grosmont. The hi-vis jackets are a requirement in the yard, health and safety dictate this, so I prefer to work with them photographically, rather than trying to fight them.
I just had to wait for the bloke wearing it to get into a suitable position to have it reflected in this composition. Shortly afterward he moved to a different engine to get that one ready.
