Looking out to sea

"Another Place is an artwork by Antony Gormley. It is made up of 100 cast iron figures situated across an area of sandy beach over 3km long (approx 2 miles).
The Another Place figures - each weighing 650 kilos - are made from casts of the artist's own body and are shown at different stages of rising out of the sand, all of them looking out to sea, staring at the horizon in ‘silent expectation.’
Antony Gormley says the installation is a poetic response to the individual and universal sentiments associated with emigration - sadness at leaving, but the hope of a new future in Another Place."
Is this a reflective palindrome? The symmetry of this reflection means that even the vandalised message is not lost!

This scenery was shot yesterday afternoon before we headed home to see my mother-in-law. She is finally out of hospital and my husband is grateful that she is now at home and well taken care of.
I miss shooting my favourite scenery. Yesterday was another busy day. However we managed to reach this beach before we miss any dramatic lights.
Shot RAW with 3 different exposures (-2,0,+2 EV).
Generated HDR using photomatix and tonemapped it using detail enhancer.
In Photoshop,
Cleaned up the image, got rid of spots in the sky and also the clouds.
Blended tonemapped 0 EV shot to get the reflective 'floor' on the ground.
Blended tonemapped +2 EV shot to get details on the dark ground.
Increased Brightness/contrast.
Manipulated the Curves to give me a mix of small c and s curve.
Changed colours red, blue, cyan, yellow and magenta.
Contracted the Levels.
Applied dodge tool to lighten some of the dark areas.
Applied burn tool to darken some part of the sky.
Applied noise reduction filter.
I will enjoy this weekend, tomorrow is another shooting day for me. Wish me luck! :)

Time for a portrait. I like the mood and the reflective look of the model in this shot.
