Several joggers and dog walkers passed by without even noticing these lovely reflection in the puddles.
In 2006, my daughter Christy and I spent a few days in Amsterdam before I was scheduled to teach a class in nearby Alkmaar for work. It was a fabulous experience! So, this time I returned to the Netherlands with my husband - no work involved. With so many bikes in the background, here's a reflection of Dick and I in a scooter mirror.
Mirrored in layers of thin ice forming on the lake on Bluebird Estates, Alberta, Canada, this log house reflection image is inspired by Expressionism.
Expressionistic Movements (Late 19th - Early 20th Century)
Expressionism developed during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Expressionis[m] was opposed to academic standards that had prevailed in Europe and emphasized artist's subjective emotion, which overrides fidelity to the actual appearance of things. The subjects of expressionist works were frequently distorted, or otherwise altered. Landmarks of this movement were violent colors and exaggerated lines that helped contain intense emotional expression. Application of formal elements is vivid, jarring, violent, or dynamic. Expressionist were trying to pinpoint the expression of inner experience rather than solely realistic portrayal, seeking to depict not objective reality but the subjective emotions and responses that objects and events arouse in them. In the years just around 1910 the expressionistic approach pioneered by Ensor, Munch, and van Gogh, in particular, was developed in the work of three artists' groups: the Fauves, Die Brucke, Der Blaue Reiter.
Used the Figge Art Museum as a base for this shot. Flipped the image (more dramatic looking down than up)
and then layered in a nice sunset.
This is one of a three part series of shots taken of a reflection on a glass tabletop. In each shot I chose a different point of focus, resulting in three dramatically different images.

I wonder what would cause a group of 6 Brown Pelicans to travel 30 mi (48km) inland from the Atlantic Ocean, to a rather small and unimportant lake, to spend a few days.

Angkor Wat is the world's largest religious monument, built in the early 12th century during King Suryavarman II's reign.
The vast temple was built in honor of the Hindu God Vishnu.
The seaport city of Nampo is one of the larger cities in North Korea. After Pyongyang though, everything seems small and quite different. Located just 50km southwest of Pyongyang, Nampo is more industrial. If Pyongyang were San Francisco, then Nampo would be Oakland, just a bit further apart.
Now that I have no more inhibition with post processing, I'll just go ahead and explore reflections in any way possible :))
I took the famous Norway in a Nutshell tour, where it rained almost continually, making it hard to take good photos. But I got lucky here as we entered a fjord and came across this small village right on the water. Given the weather and the isolation, I wouldn't want to live here, but it's still pretty and charming.
