"The way we experience the world around us is a direct reflection of the world within us." - Ritu Ghatourey

I took a bunch of photos at this spot. The water was very smooth and the light was great. The green boat floating just off shore caught my eye along with the reflections and some decent fall foliage. This is I think considered Winnegance Creek that not far from hear empties into the Kennebec River.

2024 was a rough year for us. However, I really can’t complain too much because some really good things happened, as well.

The best part of the year was adopting Torvi. She’s been such a radiant beam of sunshine in our lives and fits in perfectly with our weird little family. We love her so much!

While we weren’t able to have as many adventures as we would have liked with our camper van, just bringing it home was definitely a highlight of our year. Plus, we were still able to have some adventures with it, all of which were awesome.

On a similar note, all of the time Mike and I spent together (and with the kitties) is always a good thing, whether it’s hiking, biking, or just hanging out and playing a card game.

Another great highlight of the year was that I switched jobs! After 17 years in the same one, I was beyond burnt out and ready for a change. My new job is exactly what I was looking for and I’m extremely grateful for it.

The last good thing about this year was that after 7 months of terrible digestive issues, I finally received a diagnosis and am now recovering from a surgery to fix things. Having a chronic illness means dealing with a melodramatic body and despite taking care of myself, issues sometimes pop up as a complication of my illness. It’s a huge relief to be moving on from this!

Here’s to health and happiness for everyone in the coming year!

Awesome sunset. it was hard to stop😊 taking photos...the reflections were really beautiful.

Reflection in the window of the Markthal Rotterdam. The chairs are 'real', the rest is largely reflection

The Markthal in Rotterdam is a residential and retail building with an indoor market hall. The opening took place on October 1, 2014 by Queen Máxima. In addition to an indoor market, the complex houses 228 apartments, 4,600 m² of retail space, 1,600 m² of catering and a parking garage for more than a thousand cars.

On a recent trip to Scotland I made an impromptu stop at Bambnurgh Castle in Northumberland, at this time of the year the sun as you can see rises along the length of the beach and so happened to coincide with a falling full tide which gave some wonderful reflections.

I am in the process of organising some workshops and a newsletter and have just launched my new website, www.willplunkett.photo I have set up a mailing list if you would be interested in finding out more.

Kind regards

A very early morning shot of the Pier again, for a while I was the only person on the beach except one solitary (and frankly bonkers) swimmer in the freezing water. Brighton pier shots are always a cliché and I have loads of them. Happy cliché Saturday.

On reflection this is one of my favourite Bridge shots i've got. It was a spur of the moment decision to stop due to the stillness and glad i did - really like the soft wavey reflections. :-) 0.9 hard grad.

The reflection shows the other side of this smiling shell!

As the tide was shifting, so the reflections joined the stunning clouds for this beach spectacle.

The slight movement of the ocean makes the reflection very interesting :)

One of three photographic partial views of "Endlessly Repeating Twentieth Century Modernism", Josiah McElheny, 2007. Blown mirrored glass, mirrors, metal, wood, and electric lighting. Boston Museum of Fine Arts.

Curator's description: "McElheny hand-blew the dozens of glass vessels in this perfect machined, mirrored box, basing them on 20th-century designs. Their glinting reflections reed in an infinitely repeating pattern. The work is inspired by an enclosed and completely reflective world of pure form imagined by architect Buckminster Fuller and sculptor Isamu Noguchi in 1929. By crafting a version of their idea, McElheny reveals what a world purged of human presence and individuality looks like. Though brimming with beautiful objects, it is a place apart, devoid of life."

As I recall, the box is square, maybe a cube, about 2m on a side, with windows all around, containing various arrangements of bottles, with the tallest maybe about 0.3m. _0706h

Pond grass on the surface of Reflection Lake adds an abstract pattern to the refection of Mount Rainier.

The image was taken a few moments before sunset and the camera is pointed towards the sun which is setting behind the church. The light illuminating the cracked boulder in the foreground is the sunlight reflected from a big window nearby, and hence the name. The church is Kópavogskirkja, the best known landmark of my community.

The image is an HDR of 3 exposures, processed in Photomatix.

Tonight I wasn't going to post or even visit for that matter because today I started a new job, I worked this afternoon till 9:30pm...but I came on for a bit because I'm too wound up to sleep lol so I thought I'd just repay some visits...but then I thought, I might as well post something!

This is a photo taken the same day as the last three photos...this is also from the Adelaide Botanical Gardens...

I have never taken a photo of Autumn colours' reflections and I couldn't believe how beautiful and artistic, these reflections were...I hope you like them too!

Reflections on the water at Docklands

An externally perfect example of a small fortified tower house, Smailholm occupies a prominent position atop Lady Hill, near Sandyknowe in the Scottish Borders. The location gives wide-ranging views to the Cheviot, Lammermuir, and Eildon Hills. The tower was built in the early 15th century by the Pringle family, squires of the powerful Black Douglasses who ruled much of the Borders.

The tower stands five storeys high, reaching 20 metres (65 feet), on an rectangular plan, with walls over 2 metres thick.
