The way life used to be
Reflections of
The love you took from me...
Oh, I'm all alone now
No love to shield me
Trapped in a world
That's a distorted reality...
Spent the New Year out in the land yacht hunkered down in the Sierra foothills partaking in a 4 year tradition that will change next year because of this park's weak backbone when it comes to enforcing their "rules"...
Needless to say,
HAPPY NEW YEAR FLICKrHEADS...
Dad took this gorgeous photo, apparently at Milham Park, sometime in 1957. Judging by other photographs in the set, my Uncle Russ and Aunt Charlotte were vacationing at our place; presumably we gave them a tour of the town.
Roger Dinda photo, taken with his Argus C3 and scanned from a Kodachrome slide processed by Kodak in March of 1958.
Since the number 808 is the same backwards, forwards and upside down, the theme for Down Under Challenge No. 808 is reflections. The number 808 is supposed to appear in the image, so I've included it here, though, because I didn't want to mess up the image, you'll have to look for it...
This is a composite of two images: I took the stilt and its reflection from another image and placed it over/under the reflected image of Mt Tamalpais. Both shots were taken in the Corte Madera Marsh.
caught in a fleeting moment, this scene captures a man mid-stride, stepping through the interplay of light and shadow on a sunlit street. his figure is mirrored perfectly in the wet pavement below, creating a dual reality where the ordinary becomes extraordinary. the reflection ripples slightly, as if the street itself were contemplating his movement. the sharp contrast of black and white adds drama, pulling attention to the textures of the wet cobblestones and the crisp silhouette of the walker. the urban backdrop, with its shop signs and shadows, frames the scene, grounding it in the vibrant chaos of everyday city life. it is a moment of quiet poetry amidst the rush, a snapshot of human existence reflected in the heart of the city.
While in Alabama I found this place where I could work on my reflection shots.. any ideas of what I could do to get it better?
If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.

Reflections at the koi pond at Spokane's Japanese Gardens. One can't help but be more relaxed and in tune after spending time here.
Thanks for taking a look.
Have a marvelous Monday!
Another shot of the Sankenbachsee, this time taken from the other side where a small piece of water was not frozen yet. The Black Forest in snow is almost colourless, it's almost if you shooting black&white all the time but it's beautiful.

My contribution to the Macro Monday group for this week theme - Reflection.
It was not so easy to manage the reflecting surface, 'cause it reflects darkness at most angles....
The only light source here is one flash through a diffuser from above. And picture is SOOC except for the signature .
