I was flipping through some photos from a trip to Bordeaux last year and this distorted window reflection seemed to be looking at me!!
I’ve bought a little M43 camera to use in those situations where dragging a DSLR and several lenses along doesn’t work that well. Yesterday I took it for a little test in downtown Oslo. The water had been shut off in one of the fountains near the National Theatre and it had lots of little puddles with different kind of reflections, so I decided to play around with that.
While in Agra I was able to hire a car and visit Mehtab Bagh along the Yamuna River. The clouded sky created some amazing reflections along the river.

August 2007
A red squirrel pauses for a moment by a small pool of water. Fortunately most of the ice had melted in the afternoon sun so the reflection came out.
On a late August trip to the French Alps with BenjaminBarakat, Sadeq Hayati, and Jeremy Singer, we discovered a tranquil mountain lake that acted as a flawless mirror. Orion rose about an hour before dawn, but it wasn’t until after the end of the dark night that it aligned perfectly above the peak of Aiguille Verte.
To capture this alignment, I kept shooting well into the astronomical twilight. By then, the sky had turned a deep blue, and the growing daylight softened the contrasts. Yet, thanks to my narrowband filter, I was still able to record the vivid red hydrogen emission nebulae - visible even in the reflection.
The interplay of red and blue hues, accented by the faint yellow glow on the horizon, makes this one of my favorite images from that magical night.

And remember what it felt like
To be alone
Sitting in the sunlight
All alone

The tail end of a KC-10 tanker, as seen in my visor. You can barely make out Fezzik and Turbo's jet on the left side of the reflection, i.e. my right.

“Look at your feet. You are standing in the sky.
When we think of the sky, we tend to look up,
but the sky actually begins at the earth.”

Another shot from last night. Always wanted to shoot this tree with the stars, but theres never that many stars behind it, like the shot i got of it under the moonlight. There were so many stars out last night there were no worries with lack of stars. A cool reflection shot.
