Reflections of an iron fence on the water in the Shubie Canal. The image has been mirrored and copied twice to be symmetrical. The detail is best seen full screen.
a small derelict cottage that has been torn down, the left hand side is the reflection in the window, the right part is looking through to the landscape on the other side. This was one of my favourite places to photograph, sad that it's gone but glad I went there loads. Kodak portra developed in tetenal C41
Nothing compares to nature when it comes to beauty! As I was shooting the reflections of this tree, two small fish broke the surface creating patterns between the two rings they made.
All images and textures are my own.

Just returned from North Carolina and the fall foliage (wow, it was amazing!) and I had planned to begin sharing some more of the images from our earlier trip to Alaska ... and perhaps some of those magnificent colors of the east ... but I began reflecting. Yes, my mind returned to those incredible polar bears from less than a month ago.
Reflection ... that's quite appropriate when sharing today's image. This young cub was just playing with its mom when it wandered off towards the edge of the snow covered landscape towards us. On this particular morning, there was barely a breathe of wind, which played perfectly into what I had hoped would be the result. I waited patiently for the cub to not only near the edge, but eventually lose interest in the scent in the snow and ultimately look up at us. Below was an amazing reflection of this adorable puff ball of a polar bear cub. So very curious as to our presence, though it really didn't alter its behavior in any way ... well, except for that glance.
Connected ... that's how I felt at this particular moment. A sudden surge of happiness passed through me, as if it were an electrical current. That's the moment that I long for ... the moment that I wait for ... and the moment that I treasure most. :-)
As I sit in my office this morning, I can't help but wonder where they are now and how they are faring. I hope that perhaps we will meet again. It can happen and it did happen with a particular brown bear in Katmai NP & Preserve ... precisely 2 years later. It was undeniable and I'll share that image and story tomorrow.
Thanks so much for stopping by to view and especially for sharing your thoughts and comments.

Another image from my visit to Bedruthan Steps, though the colour version of this is nice I much prefer this mono version. The conditons were in my favour on this visit as I was able to get a few shots I am pleased with.

On reflection this is one of my favourite Bridge shots i've got. It was a spur of the moment decision to stop due to the stillness and glad i did - really like the soft wavey reflections. :-) 0.9 hard grad.

An externally perfect example of a small fortified tower house, Smailholm occupies a prominent position atop Lady Hill, near Sandyknowe in the Scottish Borders. The location gives wide-ranging views to the Cheviot, Lammermuir, and Eildon Hills. The tower was built in the early 15th century by the Pringle family, squires of the powerful Black Douglasses who ruled much of the Borders.
The tower stands five storeys high, reaching 20 metres (65 feet), on an rectangular plan, with walls over 2 metres thick.
