Newport Beach on Sydneys Northern Beaches...
One from my archive... Love the pastel colours on this day..
This isn't the usual type of image you’d expect from me, is it? I had some time to kill in downtown Halifax and originally planned to shoot the Town Clock with some long exposures. I’ve shot it before, but with the cold and windy, I wanted to give it another go and explore different compositions. The problem? Not a single cloud in the sky! So, I decided to take a walk in the Public Gardens, hoping to photograph the ducks. Most of them were out of the water, still "sleeping," though I did get a shot that I'll likely share soon.
As I wandered around, I noticed a small house and bridge. I knew it was there, but what really caught my eye was the mirror-like reflection in the still water. While composing the shot, a duck came towards me, probably looking for food. I hoped it would swim into the open area of the frame, but that was asking too much. With no food, it retreated back to shore, out of view.
This was a 20-second exposure, as I wanted to smooth out the small ripples caused by what I assume were frogs. I also had to time the shot between people taking selfies on the bridge. An elderly gentleman even approached me to compliment my composition, which was a nice moment.
Let me know what you think!
Just a fun shot of reflections on the upper pond in the back yard. The color is a reflection of a colored wind mill.
Taken while driving in Beirut. This is in Hamra..... I loved the many reflections that I saw on the buildings...
Slightly edited shot of people in Amsterdam reflected in a puddle. Taken with my Sony HX1. No editing besides some added contrast and saturation, no magic tricks, no Photoshop :)
Yesterday I had to work, on my free day, my beloved, holy Friday, and my body kept looking at me all confused and dazed, asking "But why? We could be in bed, sleeping! Or bike through the best city in the world and shoot puddles? Why would you make me go to the office and work? On a Friday! I thought we're friends!?"...so what's a wicked Reflectah to do but tell his lazy body to shut up and just do it? Exactly! To make up for it, I went to the Birthday party of the lovely Miss E and got reallyreally drunk, it was awesome fun to hang out with a bunch of cool people and talk tons of BS while laughing my head off, hehehe. Now I'm badly hung over and wish my house would stop moving in slow circles, lol :D
Have a wicked weekend :)
I've made a wicked reflection movie of this puddle too, check it out on my YouTube channel, thank you :)

reflection or illusion? this image was captured in front window of a restaurant at Lake Como, Italy where they placed 2 orchids. It gave an interesting reflection of windows from the bldg across. However, the beautiful orchids were still the point of interest in front of the couch in the image.
#deepdream art progress starting with a double exposure image, the second image has been put through 'DreamScope' Trippy Filter just once and the last image is a mix of B&W images and layered deepdream filters

This image was taken at the same day when I went to capture some images of skywalk, just accidentally I found this place when I went outside for a fresh air. Sunny bright day as you see which created nice shadows and reflection...

One of the best ways to get a feeling for the Fraser Estuary is from a small boat such as a canoe or kayak. Although the Fraser River powers its way through the estuary in three main channels, there are numerous backwaters where the current is not as strong nor the wakes from passing tugboats and freighters as intimidating. Try launching at Deas Slough and explore the nearby Ladner Marsh area.
There are two approaches, one from Deas Island Regional Park and the other from the public boat launch at the north end of Ferry Road on the outskirts of Ladner.
Both approaches are equally well suited to exploring Deas Slough. Deas Island Park lies 1.5 miles (2.5 km) east of the Hwy 99/Hwy 17 interchange.
A small causeway links the island with River Road. Car-top boats can be launched at the east end of Deas Slough beside the Delta Rowing Club.
From here, the entire length of the slough stretches before you, an open invitation to steal away. The varied terrain of the Vancouver, Coast and Mountain region of BC accommodates every outdoor recreation known to man.
The boat ramp on Ferry Road at the west end of Deas Slough is vehicle accessible. This is where anglers, water-skiers, jet boats, canoes, and kayaks launch. From here, Deas Island's rocky-pointed snout is only a quick paddle away.
The full girth of the Fraser River's South Arm lies on the far side of Deas Island and should be paddled only at slack tide. During falling tides, currents in the Fraser can reach almost 7 miles (11 km) per hour, although you won't experience these conditions in the backwater on Deas' south side.
The heart of the slough is equidistant from either Ferry Road or Deas Island Park. If you want to expand your journey beyond the slough, investigate the secluded channels of Ladner Marsh and the South Arm Marshes Wildlife Management Area that begins west of the Ferry Road boat launch and includes all of the delta between Deas and Westham Islands.
