Before opening to the public, 9/11 Memorial Museum staff places a white rose at the name of each victim who has a birthday that day.

The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history.

The reflecting pool mirrors the view to the lake over the bluffs. The fence protects from falling hundreds of feet over the bluffs.

The exterior view is sun-lit. At 1/1600 f3.2 ISO 100, the image is equisite.

The image's creativity is attributed to Doris McCarthy. It captures her successful attempt to improve her own artistic creativity. Her legacy, embodied in the reflecting pool, inspires all.

Until this year it was an unique view of the lake front enjoyed only by Doris and her friends. Thanks to her donation and endowment of $500,000, the view now can be enjoyed by Open Doors Ontario and Open Doors Toronto.

The scenic view inspires all who view it to try their hand at painting the landscape. It is a fit tribute to one who spent her working life teaching art at Central Technical School.

The importance of 9:01 to 9:03 as seen at the site, 9:01 was one minute before the bombing when time just like any other day. 9:02 was when the explosion took place. 9:03 as seen in this photo was the minute moving forward that everything changed.

“Liberty is the possibility of doubting, the possibility of making a mistake, the possibility of searching and experimenting, the possibility of saying No to any authority--literary, artistic, philosophic, religious, social and even political.”
