A Chamber of Deputies (the bowl to the left of towers) commission started impeachment hearings this week against President Rousseff.
A self shot from a couple weeks back. You can see the Reflecting Pool is mostly iced over, and the marble was extremely slippery.
Single 8 sec exposure taken from the Lincoln Memorial.
Thanks for looking!

Bring Me To Life Video by Kamoteus ;-)
I am a barren land
And it’s all I can do to stand
I am thirsty, I am thirsty
Father, reach out Your hand
I have given all that I can
Still I’m sinking, I’m still sinking
I want to run into the deep
And let the deep call out to me
I want to lose myself in Your love
So let it rain down over me
As I fall down to my knees
Let the ocean rise to meet me
I need You to bring me to life
Well of eternal things
Endless is all the life You bring
Be the water that I long for
And show me Your Kingdom Come
Father and let Your will be done
Here in me as it is in Heaven

Taken on one of the four days a year that the sun is visible through he windows in the Capitol Dome from this location.

This is a shot of downtown Boston at night as seen from the Christian Science Center Plaza's reflecting pool.
**This one was incredibly tricky as it was ghosting city. I had to create about 20 different HDRS based on different exposure combinations and then pick out the pieces that worked...even if it was for a single window or reflection.

Toronto's Old City Hall and the Nathan Phillips Square Freedom Arches are mirrored in the aptly named "Reflecting Pool."
The ducklings are so blasted photogenic, it's hard to resist.
I like this one because of the bokeh of Mother Duck in the background.
Chihuly in the Garden 2023 features floating Chihuly glass in refecting pools in front of the Climatron. Hailed as one of the most important artists of the 21st century, Dale Chihuly has transformed glass into a multidimensional artform.
Not the most enjoyable evening to be out..
Also appears at Capital Weather Gang (and here), and We Love DC.

Somehow, there's a turtle in the Reflecting Pool, which is a little strange since they're not a usual sight there.
The reflecting pool in San Ángel Parque de la Bombilla fronting the Monumento a Álvaro Obregón.
PARQUE DE LA BOMBILA:
The park was inaugurated in 1935 on the seven-year anniversary of the assassination of Álvaro Obregón.
The reflection pool was part of the 2015 rehabilitation of the park.
Obregón had been President of Mexico from 1920 to 1924 and was murdered in 1928 while dining at La Bombilla, a fancy restaurant that sat at the spot where the monument is.
MONUMENTO A ÁLVARO OBREGÓN:
The 1935 unveiled art-deco monument was designed by architect Enrique Aragón Echegaray.
The monument was once famous for having hosted the embalmed arm Obregón lost fighting Pancho Villa’s forces during the revolution. Obregón himself is buried in Sonora.
It was cloudy with snow flurries all afternoon, but it started to clear around sunset. There is ice and frost covering much of the reflecting pool.

This was taken in 1997 with my old Nikon 6006 using Kodachrome and then scanning on a Nikon 8000 film scanner. My wife at I woke up at 3:00 am to drive to DC, get a parking spot and wait for the sun to come up so we could get this photo. The sky and weather cooperated for us and we had a wonderful morning talking and snapping photos.
I was just casually watching the news that morning, as I got ready for my day... when I saw the news & footage of this tragic event. Unreal.
This photo was taken in Aug. 2014, my first visit to the memorial ... I did like how they have a pond representing each building ...

Reflecting Pool
The reflecting pool occupies what was once N.W. Fifth Street. Here, a shallow depth of gently flowing water helps soothe wounds, with calming sounds providing a peaceful setting for quiet thoughts. The placid surface shows the reflection of someone changed forever by their visit to the Memorial.
Visitors enjoy the view from the Lincoln Memorial at the National Mall in Washington, DC. Washington Monument and U.S. Capitol are in backgbround.
This is one of two reflecting pools in the 9-11 Memorial Plaza in New York City. Each pool is a "footprint" of one of the Twin Towers destroyed in the 9-11 terrorist attack in Manhattan, New York.
Together the two pools contain the largest man-made waterfall in the USA.
The trees in the background are among the 400 sweet gum and swamp oak trees throughout the 6 acre Memorial Plaza.
