Wild Drake Wood Duck on calm pond water with reflection. Perhaps in self admiration but more likely skimming the water for food source. Always fun watching them during their visit before they migrate back south for the season.
This was taken at Saunders beach, one of the northern beaches of Townsville. This was after all the recent rain we have had and the sky was so crystal clear and the air so fresh. There was a soft breeze and it wasn't excruciatingly hot lol You cannot ask for anything better than that : )
Because of the king tide there was a lot of damage to this beach and many trees had been washed off the bank, the locals are now a little closer to having absolute beach front views, about a metre I would say :)
Along the beach there were thousands of beautiful shells all with little creatures caught in them no longer able to make it back to the shore... kinda sad really.
This is where I took DeGlass to cloud catch as it was a perfect day for doing so....
By the time we left there were storm clouds coming overhead and the rain had started yet again...... from this lovely blue to grey and dreary....nature sure likes to put on shows :)
I am kinda tired this morning, not sure why I had a really early night, I think it is the prospect of going back to work ...i have only two days left, and I know you will not feel sorry for me after such a long break,,, but don't mind me if I do lol
DeGlass is excited to be starting his first term at school and shined himself up last night with glass cleaner and got his "tools for school" all oraganised. He is clever like that ;). We shall have to see how well he behaves at The Glass Academy.... ;)
That's enough from me, it is time to dance.... wake myself up ....
Happy today, tomorrow and yesterday was really nice too : ) Car

Take time to stop today
Take time to stop a while
Reflect on how life changes
Then take the time to smile
Know that as the days go by
These things that challenge you
Will one day just be memories
Of times you have gone through
Look back now on yesterday
And all you have achieved
Recognise the strengths you’ve gained
The blessings you’ve received
One day in the future
You will think about today
You’ll see just how these challenges
Have helped you on your way

Have a great Wednesday.....and thanks for all your visits!!!!!
It's been a busy couple of weeks at work, so I thought I'd take the chance to spend a Saturday morning with Steve at Fort Funston. We both haven't been to this location for several years so it was a good opportunity to see how our perspectives of this location have changed over time.
All comments, critiques and feedback both positive and negative welcome.
Image taken at the Christian Science Plaza in Boston, MA. The grounds along side the building are adorned by gardens, a fountain and a stunning 670 foot long reflecting pool.
The reflecting pool, designed by the firm of renowned architect I.M. Pei, is so large that the curvature of the Earth had to be taken into account to keep water from spilling over the sides.
The fountain design includes a cast-iron gate with 2-inch opening that allows 180 water jets to shoot directly out of the ground.
Thank you for your comments.

First of all I cannot claim all the credit for this image, As I said in my previous shot from here ,https://www.flickr.com/photos/17469730@N00/33460641475/in/datetaken-public/ .
I had put my tripod with camera on the wall to try and get the reflection shot I wanted however, I was unable to get a good shot of the reflection , There was a photog who had climbed over the wall already with the aid of a stepladder and saw me trying to get a shot, he kindly offered to take my camera and take a shot for me so i did my settings and passed it over as there was no way I could have got over that high wall , Many thanks to the anonymous photog for helping me out that evening .
winterly duck pond at sunset ...
the duck painted with their bow-waves - till I came the surface was plain ...
as I arrived the pond smiled and showed his wrinkles ...
A simple rose reflecting in memory of a very close friend who passed suddenly
A rose can say goodbye when a friend is laid to rest, No matter what there is to say, a rose can say it best. RIP Cliff
A few shots to come of a sunset on a spur of the moment decision to pop out,I could see some nice clouds out over the sea so with no time to drive anywhere this was a walk to my local beach at Worthing .
This is cropped from a wider shot,I just wanted to include this very old and sea worn wooden groyne just as a wave receded back down the beach to the sea
Halloween Series 2024
While taking this photo, it made me reflect on how short life is, and how important it is to give it all you've got, before you can't any longer. I bet this guy would have a few wise words to say.
