I have been meaning to post this. This is a photo of the tulips that that I used last week as a reference for my drawing. I made the tulip stems shorter to get the composition to work. And I used simple blocks of color for the background. I didn't draw the tablecloth as it is, but certainly used it for inspiration.

Name: Beadle
Species: Domestic dog, medium-large size mutt (heavy muscle breed genes)
Age: Senior
Sex: Male
Location from: US
Other: Most of the damaged teeth seem to be from after-death, likely due to mishandling at some point or extreme pressure/temperature change, but there is also evidence of natural wear, especially on the molars. Right bottom tooth seems to be broken before-death, likely destroyed while chewing on something hard. Calcium build-up around the gum line suggests this dog was a chronic chewer while alive. Age seems to be a minimum of 10 years old before death occurred.

Species: Eastern Coyote/Coywolf
Sex: Female
Location from: Upper US (possibly Canada)
Other: Eastern coyotes (AKA Northeastern coyote) are descendants from coywolves. Due to the wolf genes in their system, they tend to be bigger in size with more robust features- not quite as burly and square as their wolf grandparents, but not as slender and dainty as the rest of their coyote family.
These hybrids and hybrid descendants are most prevalent in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Maryland, New York, New England, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. These hybrids were caused by low wolf population numbers in Canada (Canadian Gray Wolf numbers have since become healthy again), where wolves became desperate and started mating with coyotes. Normally, wolves are not tolerant of coyotes in the least and will usually harass or kill them outright.
This is the photo reference used for my first large classmate portrait. My classmate here is Sebastian Mendez.

This student made a drawing of her version of her "calico" cat. She then
used the drawing to help her begin a large, long-term painting. Many students
paint directly without preliminary drawings, but some prefer to plan in
advance. Sometimes the drawing merely inspires a painting idea.
