The department has been building up a library of design related reference books over the last few years. Pupils are encouraged to make use of these books on a regular basis. The photographs here demonstrate the tremendous wealth of content contained therein.

The sequence has been shot in such a way that the cover of the book is shown first and a few sample pages are included to give the student an idea of the content the book contains. Pupils may then approach staff and request a short term loan.

he earliest reference to this church was in 1291 when it was referred to as “Ecclesia de Malros”. It is built in the form of a cross, with nave, two transepts and a chancel. Recently an architect wrote “This is a much more than usually attractive and interesting church, in spite of rather heavy internal Victorian restoration and the almost total absence of old fittings''.

As you enter the door, you will see to your right the Norman Font; the bowl is square with chamfered corners and the "cushion" style; the shaft and base are modern. Alongside this is the 19th century baptistery under a wooden covering; steps go down into the tiled pool designed for baptism by total immersion. This feature is unusual for an Anglican Church but not unique. You

will see one in St George's Cathedral Jerusalem as well as some other examples in Wales and England. It is a reminder to us that, although we usually baptise by sprinkling, Anglicans, can and sometimes do use total immersion. It was constructed in 1874, and according to H. H. Timmins (Nooks and Corners of Pembrokeshire') this was to meet the wishes of the Welsh Churchmen who "does not apparently consider the ceremony of baptism complete unless he can 'Goo threw the water". It reminds us too that a past vicar perhaps tried to encourage unity between those of different theological views.

DS has a reference folder that contains things he needs to look up frequently and all his checklists for his activities so I don't have to remind him of what he's supposed to be doing all the time.

The first page has a calendar--printed on cardstock and NOT laminated so he can mark it off himself. The second had his handwriting reference page.

This is meant to be used as anatomy reference or use in art. Please see my profile for usage rules!

Name: Charulata

Species: Eastern Coyote/Coywolf

Sex: Female

Location from: Upper US (possibly Canada)

Other: Eastern coyotes (AKA Northeastern coyote) are descendants from coywolves. Due to the wolf genes in their system, they tend to be bigger in size with more robust features- not quite as burly and square as their wolf grandparents, but not as slender and dainty as the rest of their coyote family.

These hybrids and hybrid descendants are most prevalent in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Maryland, New York, New England, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. These hybrids were caused by low wolf population numbers in Canada (Canadian Gray Wolf numbers have since become healthy again), where wolves became desperate and started mating with coyotes. Normally, wolves are not tolerant of coyotes in the least and will usually harass or kill them outright.

This has been much the most fun of all the jigsaws I've done. They are very well cut pieces, difficult for spatially-challenged me, but not too difficult - and it is a fine detailed image by the painter and Illustrator C.E. Brock. The painting was done in 1936 and the jigsaw was made in 1938. The painting 'References' is a whole story in one illustration. It was evidently exhibited at the Royal Academy the year it was painted. Brock was born in 1870 and died two years after painting this, in 1938.

This Chad Valley jigsaw was part of a short selection they made from magazine illustrations. This one had been in the London Illustrated News.

Notice there is one piece at the top on the left that is a different colour from those surrounding it. I wonder if a piece could have got mixed up when the jigsaws, which were cut in stacks, were boxed, and another print had been darker. Or else perhaps the piece has been cannibalized by a later collector, from another jigsaw cut in the same stack.

I love the box - still with its tape and the original seal.
