Santa Fe 8861 was built in 1923. The car would eventually move into Maintenance of Way service and be renumbered 190456. It would pass into BNSF ownership in 1996, becoming their 935023. The car, after being retired, is on display at the Pueblo Railway Museum. At least four different paint schemes are evident on this car. Two different reefer schemes (early small logo w/o slogan and later large logo w/ slogan) and both MOW schemes/numbers are visible.

A nice Volvo FH of Bartram Transport, Ely, pulling a British based refridgerated trailer belonging to the Dutch giant, Visbeen. Seen at rest in a lay-by on the outskirts of Sidmouth.
camping out in the old west bound jungle. since last year most of the trees have been cut down and there is not much left of the camp spot.
Look what fell out of my oldies box. This nice KW was leased to Robbins Distributing. They used to haul a lot of beer out of Milwaukee. August 1967.

I thought it was comical that Jashaya didn't know the cultural references of "High Times" or "Reefer Madness" which appears on his tee.

Back in April of 1978 I caught this International waiting to unload at Milwaukee Cold Storage and just had to walk in the slush to get a photo of it.
Someone recently gave me the Billboard Reefer Book, and while this one is not included, it got me thinking. Modeling billboard reefers are very much an expression of the modeler. I'm pretty sure this one never existed, but it would have made good advertising sense to me. I used the classic Moon Pie logo to lend it an air of authenticity so it will fit in with other 40s style reefers. It also brings a bit of the South to California. Light yellow and blue, yum, yum.
