Theme of the week at Macro Mondays is: Redux 2019

I choose “Handmade”

My attempt to connect the two topics "Tradition" and (ginger)"Bread and Topping"

HMM!

I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

For those of you who’ve been to Manhattan, you’ve likely been shocked to see aircraft flying so low. Because I could not wait for perfect alignment and light, I did the next best thing with Photoshop!

As friend and fellow Flickr member johnwmacdonald put it, it was at this point when I used Photoshop it ceased being a photograph and became an illustration.

A crisp October afternoon

Whilst I was moderately happy with my previous shot of the Pulpit Rock at Cape Schanck, I felt that it was lacking some clouds to really bring it out. So here is another attempt - one that I am happier with.

For Macro Mondays

This week's theme: Redux 2020

I chose Numbers

20A stalled coming up the Slope due to an engine failure which then bunched up the eastbounds. A helper set was sent to rescue the distressed train. Once together they continued east and here lighting up the dense air at Lilly, PA. Over 25 minutes of continuous traffic passed as the eastbounds roared up the mountain in succession along with a couple westbounds.

More play with light and spirals.

#MacroMonday, #2016 Redux,

I joined in the middle of the year. I have tried combining two themes, Button and Textures.

Happy New Year!

Wired abstract! Plaid anyone?

Still kicking, not gonna complain (much) about being super busy, just need to keep it up for 2 or 3 years and then retirement. Too soon to have what we called in the military, "short timers syndrome", where all the small annoyances really bug you out of proportion, and time can't go fast enough. Nope, not gonna go there, much.

Been home for a couple of days, so busy there when you only have a couple of days to visit family and do all the mundane things like laundry (I always bring enough clothing to last a month, the truck stop laundry machines are expensive and destroy clothing pretty fast) shopping for food and other items in preparation for the next month away. Even managed to get to my doctors appointment on time, and filled prescriptions. A battle on the prescriptions with my insurance company, why am I on the expensive drugs instead of some of the older cheaper ones. At least with the insurance company I was able to get things squared away, can't imagine dealing with some government bureaucracy.

So today suppose to be back on the road, but my pickup load wasn't ready, won't be until late tonight, errrr! Now waiting on my dispatcher to find something else, or god no, have to wait until tonight. So while waiting decided to post something and visit some of you on Flickr until duty calls again.

So many pictures ready to post, but decided on reposting this newly processed shot from 2016. Why? Because the orginal picture didn't do justice to the scene as I saw it. My processing skills have improved and it really shows in this example, in my opinion at least.

I'm including a link to my orginal posting so you can see what I mean, if you have time and feel like looking. No problem if you don't, I know everyone's busy.

Here's the orginal posting from a few years ago.

A beautiful day on the grounds of Drottningholm Palace, home of the Swedish Royal family. Though no royals to be seen, during the summer months there are many locals and tourists alike walking about this beautiful outdoor garden space. The 18th century-style architecture, painted in traditional Scandinavian shade of yellow, is a popular place to photograph - with tourists, or as the backdrop for wedding parties.

We saw a Red-shouldered hawk briefly the day after our ~30 minute encounter. Then this guy/gal sat on the fence for us a few days later. We've not noticed any reduced squirrel populations but there's hope. The late afternoon sun just touched its tail feathers.

Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in Yosemite National Park, dropping a total of 2,425 feet (739 m) from the top of the upper fall to the base of the lower fall.[2] Located in the Sierra Nevada of California, it is a major attraction in the park, especially in late spring when the water flow is at its peak. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yosemite_Falls

The Launceston Gas Company operated on this site from 1858 to 1988, when the company was sold to Boral who closed down all local production. At least these beautiful old buildings (including the vertical retort building which converted coal to gas) still remain.

The square format of the 120 film makes an ideal frame for my composition.

Photo of a male Malayan tiger from a few months ago. Probably my most photographed subject from the San Diego Zoo.

We all have our favorite ornaments. This one belongs to my Mother but she doesn’t put up a large tree anymore. So she gave it to us. She named this raccoon “Romi” 😊

This bad boy was sitting in the Duluth Harbor, on detention. The previous day he rammed into the side of the channel that the Aerial Bridge crosses. He "claims" that something malfunctioned. Anyway, the Coast Guard was holding the ship while they investigated (can you say "blood test?"). This was taken while on a harbor tour.
