A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "Redux 2018", i.e. a new photograh using a theme from 2018. Here I have chosen "Line symmetry", and this is an orchid, beautifully displaying bilateral symmetry.

This is a black candle and a gold candle. You should just about be able to see 2 wicks and 2 flames.
I do hope 2019 is remembered for the right reasons and our "BIG PROBLEMS" are resolved in the right way! Happy New Year and see you on the other side.

Antique Indian Bull Horn Protectors - these are put on the sharp ends of the horns of bulls at festivals in India. These caps are painted (some of the paint from an unknown festival is still visible here), and the loops are used to hang tassels and garlands as the bulls are paraded around. Dhokra bronze castings.

Taken for group 'Macro Monday' 31st December 2018, theme 'Redux 2018'.
Not so much my favourite theme but one where I thought I could do much better (there were quite a few of them!).
For the theme 'Vowel' this is the Amethyst Engagement Ring I bought for my wife when she was just 18.
Joe Carter, Pat Borders, Pat Hentgen, Rance Mulliniks and Roberto Alomar names are visible.
A repeat of Center Square B&W for Redux 2018 Macro Mondays
In 1955 , the 'capless' flash bulb was introduced by the Philips company (from the Netherlands) . An adapter was necessary to make it possible to use these cheaper bulbs in flasholders with a so-called 'bayonet fitting' .
For "Macro Mondays" "Redux 2018" - theme: "back in the day"
I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina and it´s Summer time here. I´m ending 2018 doing what I love: Nature macro photography. This photo was taken handheld, no flash. No cropping. This Insect is a Coleoptera (Naupactus xanthographus).
If you look "closer", you will see another bug. :)

Almost a larger than life image of a miniature ball head on a really small tripod. "Photography Gear"
Flash powder device from the early 20th century . Flash powder is put on the tray . A battery inside the container provides an electric current that heats a thin wire that runs through the powder . At a certain moment the powder explodes and gives a flash .
For "Macro Mondays" "Redux 2018" . Theme : back in the day .
The 12/31/2018 theme for Macro Mondays is "Redux 2018"), meaning that I could choose any of the themes from 2018 and give it another try; and I have chosen Back in the Day. This is a ski sharpener, which was used to sharpen the steel edges on my hickory skis, back in the 1950s, back in the days before plastic.

It was always going to be all natural as the theme of the week, but what subject? Trusty welsh poppy once again came to the rescue. There were two further flowers that I could have used, one was very dog eared and beaten. I was surprised that there were the three flowers, but then it’s been very mild thus far this winter.
It is wrinkled and crinkled as well, but safer to stick with all natural.
Thanks for stopping HMM
