Taken for Macro Mondays group. As the main topic is "Redux 2018", I've chosen: Center Square B&W. Happy MM & 2019!
A piece from my adult daughter's long forgotten elementary school "jewelry" collection which works nicely for July 30: Trinkets and August 20: Multicolor.
Happy New Year to all!
Macro Mondays - Redux 2018 - 12/31/18
Macro Mondays, December 31: Redux 2018
Since this is the first time I participate this year (in years) I have chosen last weeks theme: Holiday Bokeh
MacroMondays "Redux 2018" theme
HNY to all members of MM, hope to see bunch of your new
excellent macros in 2019!
From 29 January - Flame. Here's wishing everyone a very Happy New Year for 2019 and to many more Happy Macro Mondays! Oh, and a bit of Holiday Bokeh from last week's theme for good measure!
A little trinket my grandmother brought back from Crete in the seventies. (MM-Theme: Trinkets)
The Minotaur is a creature who was half man and half bull, the offspring of Pasiphaë and a bull with which she fell in love. Confined in Crete in a labyrinth made by Daedalus and fed on human flesh, it was eventually slain by Theseus.
A wrinkly walnut shell. This shot fits the theme `Crinkled, Wrinkled, Folded or Creased'. Due to the image processing, it could also fit on the theme `Center Square B&W'.
Maybe it also contains a little bit of `Holiday Bokeh'. ;-)
I wish you a happy Macro Monday and a great week.
I wish you also a happy and successful New Year 2019.
Just olive oil drops on water... All the Best for 2019 ! Thanks for viewing, faving and comenting ! HMM !
Subtle astral colors...are hidden in everything around you. Could you but see, you would be amazed at their beauty.
Paramahansa Yogananda
This is a small section of dried seaweed I have had for years.
This was inspired by the theme double exposure from Jan 8, though I preferred the result of a triple exposure. Therefore I've gone with the Low Key theme from May 14.
It's (5cm of) a kitchen sieve.
I did wonder whether a mathematician moderator would accept this as a double exposure by the principle of strong induction!?
The Importance of Inuksuit
Many Inuit retain strong attachments to inuksuit believed to have been built by their ancestors. Some of the old inuksuit are mentioned in Aya-yait, the traveling songs passed from one generation to the next to help travelers remember a series of directions for long trips.
Canadian Encyclopedia
It's an idea that I had a couple of years ago but I couldn't find the painter. I found the figurine last year but I didn't have it with me when the theme "multicolour" was announced this year. Luckily there's always a redux week......
May all your best photos be taken in 2019.
HMM.
My Redux 2018 "Decay" theme
Flower Decay and a Spider
This Nasturtium flower had a Spider hiding in the shadows.
For Macro Mondays Redux 2018 I decided to revisit the May 21st theme of Ready for the Day with this photo of a Wilkinson Sword razor.
Defining Beauty Theme
"So if worrying adds nothing, but actually subtracts from your life, why would you worry about God’s care of you? Think about the lilies. They grow and become beautiful, not because they work hard or strive to clothe themselves. Yet not even Solomon, wearing his kingly garments of splendor, could be compared to a field of lilies. If God can clothe the fields and meadows with grass and flowers, can’t he clothe you as well, O struggling one with so many doubts?" Luke 12:26-28 The Passion Translation
"God breaks few records but he always arrives in the end. One of the best things we can do for our souls is to wait and one of the worst things is to force the issue. God lets the plant grow at its own pace. That is why He can bring forth supernatural beauty in and through imperfect instruments." Evelyn Underhill
I bought a bouquet of unopened white lilies a week before Christmas at Trader Joe's. A woman also purchasing some explained how you could "force" it to bloom faster. It made me think about how I've done that all my life (and for my poor children and loved ones. . .) This time, I allowed the lilies to open at their own pace and have enjoyed every slow unveiling of the petals until now at New Year's we are still enjoying their simple "supernatural" beauty that I had nothing to do with except enjoy. I hope I'll learn my lesson this next year to worry less and allow life to unfold before me. I'll try to Jesus' words to consider the lilies . . . .
In my Redux 2018 I tried to make a combination of:
February 12: In a Bottle
January 29: Flame
December 24: Holiday Bokeh
In mijn Redux 2018 heb ik geprobeerd een
combinatie te maken van:

I missed one of the November themes, so here is my chance to catch up. For Macro Mondays Redux 2018. HMM and a Happy New Year 2019!
A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "Redux 2018", i.e. a new photograh using a theme from 2018. Here I have chosen "Line symmetry", and this is an orchid, beautifully displaying bilateral symmetry.
HMM and Happy New Year to all Macro Mondayers - may 2019 bring lots of small wonders!
Macro slide - fits the bill for "Monochrome", "Low key", Photography Gear", and "Measurement" and just about fits into the Category "Less than an Inch"
This is a black candle and a gold candle. You should just about be able to see 2 wicks and 2 flames.
I do hope 2019 is remembered for the right reasons and our "BIG PROBLEMS" are resolved in the right way! Happy New Year and see you on the other side.

Antique Indian Bull Horn Protectors - these are put on the sharp ends of the horns of bulls at festivals in India. These caps are painted (some of the paint from an unknown festival is still visible here), and the loops are used to hang tassels and garlands as the bulls are paraded around. Dhokra bronze castings.

I chose Dec. 10: Vowel (Apple & Academics)
My Mom, a retired Special Education Teacher, was my inspiration.

"In Greek mythology, Prometheus is a Titan, culture hero, and trickster figure who is credited with the creation of man from clay, and who defies the gods by stealing fire and giving it to humanity, an act that enabled progress and civilization. Prometheus is known for his intelligence and as a champion of mankind." Wikipedia
HFF!
This photo combines two themes from the 2018 Macro Mondays themes of "double exposure" and "Flame".
