I never got to post an image for June 11th's theme of "Hand Tool". Off all the things in the workshop, this may be one of the more mundane items in the shop, but it gets the most regular use. HMM!!
Based on a Theme from the Macro Mondays Group called "Imperfection" for the current Theme "Redux 2018"
The highly skilled balancing act of the star performer!
Something rather over-the-top for Macro Mondays theme 'Redux 2018' and Smile on Saturday theme 'Wish Upon a Star'. This was my first idea for the MM theme 'Balance' just a few weeks ago, but decided on something else.
No snails were harmed in the process of making this photograph. As usual, the set up and lighting were first done, then the snail added to keep shooting time to a minimum. This is one of several small juvenile snails that are overwintering in the safety and relative warmth of my conservatory. Although they are less active at this time of year, they can usually be convinced to perform when enticed by lettuce.

With so many interesting themes to choose from I went back to March and picked "The Blues" - my photograph is of two water drops colliding causing this unique shape which is not quite seen by the naked eye.The Blues were created by using a single blue gel on my flash, blue food colourant added to the water and a cardboard blue back ground. HMM

I think this qualifies for at least two themes of the past twelve months. Monochrome (February 5th) and Vowel (December 10th). I've also been reminded (thanks Eiona) that this would also probably qualify for Circles (April 9th).

Crystal is a type of glass that is made from silica, lead oxide, soda or potash, and other additives. The peak on the side of this crystal bowl (near the centre of the image) is approximately 1" (2.5 cm) high. The red colour is red glass beads inside the bowl. The primary light source is a white candle which is also inside the bowl.

This sloth seems to be hoarding the Christmas chocolate. In the wild, sloths love to eat cacao if they can find it (cacao is the base ingredient for chocolate). For the MM Redux theme, candy.
Macro Mondays - Redux 2018
Ginger is one of the cats on the YWAM base where my wife an I are volunteering this winter. I took this picture yesterday and then used some HDR processing to bring out the blue color and details in Ginger's eye. I chose to redo the March 26th theme - The Blues. HSS and HMM

I was determined to find something suitable to post today and so experimented with an easy to capture shot which I'm sure we all instantly recognise.
