We failed to reach temperature in last week's gas firing, but sneaking a peak today, we got to see pots mid way through the firing process, something which is usually a mystery. This is the surface of a plate coated in tenmoku. The glaze had just begun to melt, but pooled together as the temperature fell.

Incredible. I expected the reduction to be strong and salty for some reason, but it was pleasantly sweet and tangy. Absolutely delicious. The roasted potatoes were slightly overdone, but still very good. They were very easy to cook, too. Same with the beans.
Served with Delirium Tremens, which was perhaps too sweet for the meal.

Using current LR Classic (release 13.5.1), I snapped a photo of my bookcase with the M10-R and 'Lux 35mm lens. ISO 50,000 was set manually, lens opening approximately f/2.8. This 1/1000 second exposure represents about a 0.7EV underexposure.
Noise reduction processing on a 2018 Mac mini took about 9 minutes.
I nipped opened a side by side view of the original raw file and the enhanced NR file at 200% magnification to make the noise reduction clear.

I like to sketch out watercolors during when attending conferences or workshops...this one was done during a harm reduction workshop. The whole world is addicted; why do we punish people who have certain addictions that we have decided to stigmatize? Look at the sky, the earth, the water rising...We are are addicted to garbage, fossil fuels, melting the icecaps, war, television, etc....while I don't advise addiction to drugs, is it any worse than the stuff the human race is "smoking"? Harm reduction is the human approach to helping our brothers and sisters with addictions.
This photo normally wouldn't pass my QC, but I enjoyed it enough to let it through. Also +2 stops on a 14-bit file with the gain at ISO 2000 means looooots of noise.

Hazard reduction in Yuraygir National Park, east of Grafton, in conjunction with the Minnie Water Bushfire Brigade and the Rural Fire Service (RFS).
The major burn along a ridge north east of Lake Minnie Water is part of a program of winter burns to provide protection from wildfire.
This burn targeting the drier ridges using incendiaries dropped from a helicopter and remote area fire fighters takes a number of days to complete.
The objective for this strategic hazard reduction burn is to reduce fuel loads and in turn the risk of wildfire travelling through this area during the summer months
The effect will be that the fuel loads in the park will be broken by these areas that have been burnt making it easier to control wildfire.
This work also helps to protect the natural values of Yuraygir National Park.
This burn is a cooperative exercise between the NPWS and Rural Fire Service, local brigades and has been endorsed by the local Bushfire Management Committee.
The NPWS conducts controlled burns in many of its reserves over the winter season for a range of purposes including asset protection, strategic fire control, maintenance of biodiversity and research.

This paper bark / tea tree area burnt quite hot during a hazard reduction mosaic burn in autumn 2014. Regeneration four years on is excellent, growth is lush, and fuel load still reasonably low.
I want that Ninjago Junk badly, but will wait for the price to drop further before I pick it up. Original RRP is ~AUD$130.
