It was a wonderfully peaceful and foggy morning at the pond in Troy NY's Oakwood Cemetery.

Image right out of camera except for a slight reduction in color temp. and a little dodging.

Nothing reduces stress like some good old fudge frosting!

For this christmas season I wish that the focus is on the light of love in our hearts, which shines throughout the darkness, also by reflections of others... Merry Christmas and all good wishes to you!

Having endured the 1957 F1 season without winning a race, Ferrari introduced the 246 Dino in 1958 to try and stop the decline in their racing fortunes.

The 1958 regulations made the use of AvGas (aviation gasoline) instead of alcohol mandatory. Ferrari looked to the 2.4ltr v6 engine (the first v6 in F1) that was designed from scratch with AvGas as the fuel, instantly providing an advantage over its rivals that had to be modified from running alcohol. (reduction in engine size to 2.5ltrs for normally aspirated engines happened in 1954.)

Mike Hawthorn won the F1 drivers championship that year in the Dino, mainly due to consistency rather than outright pace, taking a number of second places during the season to ensure that he lifted the drivers trophy. Vanwall took the constructors championship having managed to win 6 of the seasons races

Kinkaku-ji "Temple of the Golden Pavilion"), officially named Rokuon-ji, lit. "Deer Garden Temple"), is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan.

The garden complex is an excellent example of Muromachi period garden design. The Muromachi period is considered to be a classical age of Japanese garden design. The correlation between buildings and its settings were greatly emphasized during this period. It was a way to integrate the structure within the landscape in an artistic way. The garden designs were characterized by a reduction in scale, a more central purpose, and a distinct setting.

A minimalistic approach was brought to the garden design, by recreating larger landscapes in a smaller scale around a structure.

It is designated as a National Special Historic Site and a National Special Landscape, and it is one of 17 locations comprising the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto World Heritage Site. It is also one of the most popular buildings in Japan, attracting a large number of visitors annually.

I'm revisiting old photos and developing them anew. Truthfully I'm procrastinating ... I will need to snowblow the driveway sometime today and I am just not in the mood. This is a street portrait that I think has potential but my skills with Photoshop won't let me 'get it to where I want it to go.' It was taken on the Lisbon subway (it was dark and the train was moving) at 1/15 second and subsequently is not as sharp as I would have wanted. I used 'high pass sharpening' and 'shake reduction' which improved it considerably. It's still not 'there' but perhaps it's closer to what I intended when I took it?
