May 2, 1891 AGE OF STEEL write-up for MILLER'S VEHICLE WRENCH and MILLER'S REDUCING WRENCH, from John L. Miller & Co., St. Louis, MO. Based on rarity of surviving examples, the ratchet wrench did not attain much success. MILLER'S VEHICLE WRENCH achieved commercial success. John A. Miller had several patents relating to these wrenches -- 239,972, 243,942, 253,549, 445,451, 485,290 and corresponding Canadian and British patents.
