After a storm front moved through Gulf Shores, the red flags were still displayed but that did not stop this young man from breaking out the skim board and getting a bit of practice in. I sat on the balcony and watched him for 15-20 minutes and he never slowed down...sometimes you just have to make the best of a not-so-ideal situation!!

An amazing sight of Fistral Beach which I have never been to before. The waves were pretty large on the Wednesday 18th April 2018 according to locals chatting to at The Shack on Fistral Beach. To be treated with respect as I had an incident with a sneaker wave that flooded my wellingtons.....
Note the red flag on the beach due to the conditions.

Vietnam’s red flag meets the steel and glass of capitalism… the flag flies in front of one of Nha Trang’s many tourist hotels. Vietnam’s deeply troubled history seems firmly in the past as the country looks ahead to an expanding mixed economy and increased tourist trade.
From the ravages of colonialism and prolonged war, the country is now known for its fine beaches, Buddhist pagodas, extraordinary natural beauty, lovely people and bustling cities. But for all of that, it remains a one-party communist state with tight media control and a poor human rights record.
