To make this logo, I first had to look at the original. I thought about what the company was and where it came from, what they made, and how it made the customer feel. I had to make a web of ideas to sort out what were the best components that made swiss miss. I then created multiple sketches, then decided on this for a final sketch. I then used Adobe Illustrator to create this final design. I kept the colors of the logo very similar to the original, and also kept the mountains. I wanted to make sure that when people thought of “Swiss Miss” they thought of hot cocoa, which is why the logo is a mug. I wanted to make the design more playful, which is why I chose a sans serif font, and made them look like marshmallows floating in the cocoa.
Fall 2010, Graphic Design II: In this course we were asked to redesign an existent brand. I chose Clif Bar and their namesake energy bar. I decided to redirect the focus of the design to the busy older women who are mothers, businesswomen, and the like. Women who multi task and never stop on a daily basis. I wanted a beautiful clean look that was purely typographic.
