This was one of my last projects in college. We were assigned to take an existing brand (I choose to make up my own instead) and redesign the labels on the bottles. It was a pretty fun assignment and turned out to be some of my favorite pieces.
Once I get access to a better camera I'll also try to get a picture up of the actual bottles with labels on them.
I was faffing about attempting to do a rough redesign for the comics main image, I did this, and it came out really well, but is unusable because it's on a green postit note. The lesson learnt: never doodle on green postit notes. Bah.
Just a quick redesign idea I had for the Expedia 'Searching for' page on mobile using my Wanderlust Icon Set. I enlarged the icons and removed the sky backgrounds.
I still wanted to keep it within the brand's identity so I used the navy blue and yellow colours in the logo in the text and in a bar along the top to keep it subtle.
With this version of the redesign, I have tried to simplify everything. The color palette now consists of 4 colors: the background baby blue, the link magenta, the body brown, and the peeve background light blue.
I chose to stick with a redder hue for the pet peeves as red designates emotions or anger, and that's exactly what a pet peeve should be.
Continuing on the theme of simplification, all of the icons except for the RSS feed icon have been stripped out, because they did not help usability or readability. I've given up on the up/down arrow as I tried hard to make those look good, and their meanings were ambiguous at best. Instead, a simple "I agree" and "I disagree" text have been placed on the each pet peeve.
Now there should be a clear separation between content and navigation: EVERYTHING in the content section is left-justified, whereas navigation is right-justified.
I also added a Digg-style paginator, although looking at the thumbnail, it's going to need to be smaller in size.
In order to bend this blank into a ring, it has to be annealed multiple times with a torch to make it malleable enough to bend without cracking the metal.

Ein bisschen irritierend finde ich, dass beim neuen Twitter Design der Content unterschiedlich breit ist und er dadurch nicht mit dem Footer abschließt.
So after mounting the the cabinets and shelves I took them all down after I decided my in initial design was not so hot.
After going back to the drawing board I decided to center the cabinet above the sink as it was more aesthetically pleasing, and allowed for more storage on the left side which seems more usable. Its always hard to take something apart after you just put it together but when making stuff, you usually never get it quite right the first time.
Anyways I like the new position and I am just out $11.32 in laminate board.
