Goal: Create artwork for a series about LOVE (redefining love, specifically).
Audience: everyone, with a special focus on not alienating men or single people, or those who have been disenchanted by love.
Direction: (see above), grungy but hopeful. masculine, but referencing Love. the idea here was to get away from the perfect red hearts and balloons and cupid etc..
Project: This is the title slide.
Other important info: After taking into account the critique and suggestions from fellow Labbers, I ended up with this... hopefully a medium between the two directions. There is one layer I can turn on/off to darken or lighten the slide depending on how our projectors respond to the background elements.

Alberto Seveso redefines the term “body art” for Creative Tempest. For us, it no longer conjures images of tattoo parlors, Mardi Gras, or two-page spreads in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, no, instead we envision Alberto’s unique work. Alberto Seveso takes the human body (generally attractive female bodies) and uses it as a canvas for his abstract designs, but since his work is digital, he is freed from the restraints of a tangible human form. He is able to disassemble like a puzzle, make translucent like a silk scarf held up to the sun, or replace like a Mr. Potato Head, parts of the bodies that he works with as the basis for his designs. In addition, more than being creative in his choice of canvas, Alberto creates finely intricate designs that would be gorgeous on their own. Find out more at www.creativetempest.com

This is the newly remodelled and redesigned Hunter Hill Rest Stop in Vallejo, CA. This rest stop at one point was frequently avoided by those that knew better. At night this place was known for the homeless and sexually agitated to hang out.
Back in 2011 this newer renovated rest stop opened as Caltrans finalized the new building, parking area and picnic area seen here.

A combination of woodcut (the face) and linocut (laying figure). Using two different relief surfaces I tried to convey the drama by juxtaposing the roughness of wood texture (passion) and clean emotionless lines of the linocut. Is it working?
The image area is 9"x9.5. Done in 2004.
