Holy Mother of consolation Parish Church. It's the biggest church in town. It was founded by the Sobański Family and Karol Dittrich and built from 1900 to 1903. It was designed in neogothic style and it's standing on the central square of my hometown. The church was patterned on Koln Basilica (eightfold lowered) and it has two 70 meters tall towers. The interior is decorated with the flowery motifs of stain glass windows made by Franciszek Białkowski according to the design attributed to Józef Mehoffer. The church furnishings refer to the gothic style.

7 Days with Flickr - "Crazy Tuesday Theme": "Monument or emblematic building of the place where we live"

Kościół Farny pw. Matki Bożej Pocieszenia - zbudowany w centrum miasta, w latach 1900 - 1903 z fundacji rodziny Sobańskich i Karola Dittricha. We wnętrzu znajdują się piękne secesyjne witraże przedstawiające kwiaty polskie (słoneczniki, maki, chabry, lilie, malwy i chryzantemy), wykonane w pracowni Franciszka Białkowskiego, prawdopodobnie według projektu Józefa Mehoffera. Wyposażenie kościoła utrzymane jest w stylu gotyckim.

This nighttime shot showcases the red-brick façade of a historic building along the Garonne in Toulouse, part of the Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Jacques. The artificial lighting enhances the architectural lines, while the building's reflection stretches clearly over the calm water. The glow of the city in the background adds depth to the composition.

King Alfred is known for defeating the invading Danes at the battle of Edington. It is this victory which Henry Hoare II sought to commemorate by constructing the triangular redbrick Alfred's Tower, beginning in 1762. Lying 2 miles north-west of Stourhead Garden, the 50m high Tower stands on the spot where in 879AD the King raised his standard after emerging from hiding

The DeSoto County Courthouse is an historic redbrick courthouse building located at 115 East Oak Street in Arcadia, Florida. Designed by architects Bonfoey & Elliott of Tampa in the Classical Revival style, it was built in 1912-1913 by the Read-Parker Construction Company to serve as DeSoto County's third courthouse and the second one built in Arcadia. It was restored in 1976 and is a contributing property in the Arcadia Historic District.

The building was designed by the Tampa architectural firm of Bonfoey & Elliott. In 1989, the DeSoto County Courthouse was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press.

Downtown Petaluma. July 4th, 2019.

"The Second Pinal County Courthouse, built in 1891, is an historic three-story redbrick courthouse located at Pinal and 12th streets in Florence, Pinal County, Arizona, United States. Designed by prominent Arizona architect James M. Creighton in the Late Victorian Revival style of architecture, it is Pinal County's second courthouse. It is topped by an ornate clock tower, but due to a lack of funds, the clockworks was never installed. Instead a clock was painted on it with the hands set at 11:44. Replaced in 1961 by another courthouse, it fell into disrepair and it was closed in 2005. In 2007 it was declared to be one of the most endangered historic buildings in Arizona. In January 2011, the county supervisors approved a plan to renovate the building and restore it to its former glory so that it can be used by the supervisors and other county entities. On August 2, 1978, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Pinal_County_Courthouse

The building is now called the Pinal County Administrative Complex.

On the other side of this wall is a warm, noisy, friendly café - just try finding the entrance!

Historic redbricked rowhouses line the boulevard style street. The light at afternoon yesterday was so weird that even dark red things stood out starkly.

Saturday Self Challenge

Our challenge this week will be:

"Odd Numbers"

Take a photo of an odd number of any subject or object (3,5,7 etc.) and arrange it so that it's pleasing to the eye. You will have to use your compositional skills for this challenge:

All post-processing is allowed for this challenge.

I had this challenge sorted earlier in the week but today when I spotted this there was a quick change of plan. After a wait of around 20 minutes I managed to get the photo free of people with selfie sticks !!

The Liverpool Mountain is by the Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone. It is his first public artwork in the UK and the first of its kind in Europe. The piece is inspired by naturally occurring spires or pyramids of rock, and the art of meditative rock balancing. It stands at 10 metres in height (32 feet) and is located in the Mermaid Courtyard, outside Tate Liverpool on the Albert Dock.

It consists of five coloured granite rocks, stacked vertically which seemingly appear to defy gravity.

This sculpture marks the 10th anniversary of Liverpool European Capital of Culture.

It’s would appear the residents of the city of Liverpool are divided into the ‘love it’ or ‘hate it’ categories. One local lady approached me as I was taking the photo expressing her dislike, followed shortly by another who loved it. So I suppose it’s make your own mind up. Personally I think it would have been much better without the paint job, I’m sure the natural granite would have looked much better.

Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

The Uni have started to light up the clock face with red lights. Very impressive look to Old Joe especially in the evening.
