The DeSoto County Courthouse is an historic redbrick courthouse building located at 115 East Oak Street in Arcadia, Florida. Designed by architects Bonfoey & Elliott of Tampa in the Classical Revival style, it was built in 1912-1913 by the Read-Parker Construction Company to serve as DeSoto County's third courthouse and the second one built in Arcadia. It was restored in 1976 and is a contributing property in the Arcadia Historic District.
The building was designed by the Tampa architectural firm of Bonfoey & Elliott. In 1989, the DeSoto County Courthouse was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press.

Holy Mother of consolation Parish Church - it's the biggest church in town. It was founded by the Sobański Family and Karol Dittrich and built from 1900 to 1903. It was designed in neogothic style and it's standing on the central square of my hometown. The church was patterned on Koln Basilica (eightfold lowered) and it has two 70 meters tall towers. The interior is decorated with the flowery motifs of stain glass windows made by Franciszek Białkowski according to the design attributed to Józef Mehoffer. The church furnishings refer to the gothic style.

Kościół Farny pw. Matki Bożej Pocieszenia - zbudowany w centrum miasta, w latach 1900 - 1903 z fundacji rodziny Sobańskich i Karola Dittricha. Zaprojektowany przez Józefa Piusa Dziekońskiego w stylu neogotyckim. Kościół wzorowany był na bazylice w Kolonii (ośmiokrotnie pomniejszony), posiada dwie strzeliste 70-cio metrowe wieże. We wnętrzu znajdują się piękne secesyjne witraże przedstawiające kwiaty polskie (słoneczniki, maki, chabry, lilie, malwy i chryzantemy), wykonane w pracowni Franciszka Białkowskiego, prawdopodobnie według projektu Józefa Mehoffera. Wyposażenie kościoła utrzymane jest w stylu gotyckim.

Ruins of castle in Czersk, Poland.
Czersk is a small town, 39 km from the center of Warsaw, in Piaseczno County.
Czersk’s main tourist attraction is its medieval brick castle which was built on a hill between 1398 and 1406 for the Mazovia Prince - Janusz I Starszy. It had three towers and curtains which were 8 meters high and almost 2 meters thick. Czersk became the capital of the Mazovian Duchy due to its significant settlement along the Vistula river. Queen Bona Sforza, among others, lived in the castle.
In the 15th century, however, the Vistula river shifted its bed, moving away from Czersk. As a consequence the site fell into obscurity and the castle began to decay.
During the Swedish invasion in 1655–1660 the castle was nearly destroyed. Briefly rebuilt in 1762–1766.
Today the castle ruins and the pituresque village have become tourist attractions. The towers were recently renovated and there is a fantastic view of the Vistula River valley from their terraces.

Built of red brick in 1878, the Wandiligong Public Library is a simple building that may be found along Morses Creek Road in the pretty Alpine town of Wandiligong.
Simple it may be, with minimal ornamentation and elegant lines, but this building shows how important and populated Wandiligong was during the Victorian Gold Rush. Not every town had a public library, which makes this survivor a significant piece of history.
Today the Wandiligong Public Library is used as a small local art gallery.
Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.

Żyrardów - small town in Central Poland, located in the Mazovia region. It owes its unique atmosphere to the characteristic architecture of an industrial town. The original spatial layout of the community, which grew around a manufacturing plant in the mid-19th century, has been preserved to the present day. The historic center of Żyrardów (mostly buildings from red bricks) is the only industrial architecture complex from the turn of the 20th c. in Europe that has been preserved to modern times in full. The old settlement covers a 76-ha area in the central part of the town. Diversified architectural forms and styles characterize the city, which has resulted from the multi-cultural character of Żyrardów. The flax trade gave the town its origins. A plant manufacturing flax that was one of the largest and modern factories in Europe was established there in 1829. Karol Dittrich and Karol Hielle, two industrialists from Germany, founded the plant. The town derives its name from the first technical director of the plant, Philip de Girard who, among others, invented a mechanical flax-spinning machine.

Żyrardów leży w centrum Polski, na Mazowszu. Swój niepowtarzalny klimat zawdzięcza charakterystycznej architekturze miasta zaprojektowanej w połowie XIX stulecia. Zabytkowe centrum Żyrardowa jest jedynym w Europie zachowanym w całości zespołem urbanistyczno-architektonicznym miasta przemysłowego przełomu XIX i XX wieku. Osada fabryczna obejmuje centralną część miasta o powierzchni ok. 76 ha. Charakteryzuje ją różnorodność form architektonicznych i stylów, co wynika ze zróżnicowania narodowościowego mieszkańców Żyrardowa. Początek miastu dała fabryka lniarska, która powstała na terenie dzisiejszego Żyrardowa w 1829 roku. Była to jedna z największych i najnowocześniejszych fabryk ówczesnej Europy. Została założona przez dwóch przemysłowców z Niemiec: Karola Dittricha i Karola Hielle. Żyrardów zawdzięcza swą nazwę pierwszemu dyrektorowi technicznemu fabryki, Philipowi de Girard. Był on m.in. wynalazcą maszyny do mechanicznego przędzenia lnu.
The wind is getting up and more leaves are starting to fall off the trees. The red brick of the University matches the red leaves from the trees.

This was a test shot prepping for a bigger scale shot (part of a series/folio so I'm not unveiling them yet... soon though!) that I really liked as a silhouette. So here it is!
Subject posed in the antique concrete drain with a lit smoke while a LED Lenser P7 was illuminating things from down the pipe. Nice easy 10 second exposure.
This is the town I was born in, Wynnewood, Oklahoma. It is a very small town. We moved to Oklahoma City when I was 2, and I have lived there the rest of my life.
I shot this on Memorial Day. Like most small towns in Oklahoma you will see the American flag displayed along the streets.
We go down every year we are not out of state to decorate graves. My parents, both sets of grandparents, many aunts and uncles are buried in the town cemetery.
So this is small town America, or what is left of it. Very few businesses now, and seems like the town gets smaller every year.
It is the time, when rock/metal can be played without guitars or drums As electronic music came to the stage everything changed a lot, sadly (or not), my music taste changed too. As I remember, never liked piano classes at music school, but today I can insure you it is the most universal music instrument you can imagine. Very excited how this model turned out. Somewhere within hides mechanism which makes all keys simulate real playing experience. Also added some spinning and moving equalizers to complete the look.
This is Leigh Spinners, a pair of 20th century cotton spinning mills in Leigh,Lancashire,UK.
This part of the building is the number 1 mill and the central chimney stack, completed in 1915. The large windowless part you can see here is the "rope race", where the ropes from the mill engine ran up to wheels connected to drive shafts which ran the entire length of the mill and powered the textile machinery.

Away from futuristic CW for a moment, to Central (and more traditional) London. A fine example - except for the added* upward extension: questionable in style for the situation but, luckily, 'invisible' to most passers-by...
* this might not be added but a standalone modern building in a nearby street behind - in which case, my apologies to any architect/s involved :)
The Dark Arches under Leeds station, normally quite vibrant with people visiting bars and restaurants on the canal side, now quiet due to the COVID crisis. The dark arches is also where the River Aire routes under Leeds railway station.
This photo has no cosmic significance, It's just some old bricks in a wall in downtown Copenhagen. However, it's the first pic I've posted on Flickr since I calibrated my monitor, which involved boosting the blue channel by quite a lot. The calibration process also included turning the brightness down significantly, which is a bore when I'm doing non-photographic stuff with my computer, so I left the screen on max brightness and seemed to achieve much the same effect by editing this pic whilst wearing sunglasses! We'll see what the camera club monitor police have to say....
