The old Bethlehem Steel Headquarters Building on Third Street in Bethlehem, Pa.
This was the night of the supermoon, the brightest of the year, and the sky was luminous, amazingly so for a bright city. The reddish glow on the bricks here comes from the street lights and a concert being held a block away in front of the blast furnaces.
The company actually left two vacant HQ buildings in this city. The Martin Tower, built across the river in 1972, replaced this one, which dates to 1916. Redevelopment proposals have been offered for both buildings but there are major obstacles at both: Asbestos in the Martin Tower and general decay here. I opened the chained front doors of this building as far as they would go and a wave of moldy air came wafting out at me.

A castle of labour
At first sight palatial redbrick facades and artistically adorned gables on buildings dotted around a grassy square are more reminiscent of an aristocratic residence than a coal mine. This was exactly one of the ideas behind the architecture.
Today the “mansion of labour” in the west of Dortmund is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and impressive testimonies to Germany’s industrial history. The engine house with its famous Jugendstil (art nouveau) doorway is already an icon. But the museum’s outstanding industrial architecture is only one of many different attractive facets. The various sections of the exhibition will take you into a world of harsh working conditions, and the stories of the men and women who worked in coalmining during the 20th century will bring this vividly to life.
This, now disused, Italianate sewage pumping station is alongside the Chesterfield canal in Worksop. It really is a very imposing construction and is in excellent condition, I hope another use can be found for the building as it would be a shame to lose it.
Autumn is still lingering on campus. Also I am enjoying using my wide angled function on the iPhone 11pro
I love this door. I pass it when I walk up to the gym, and I always think, "Must bring my camera," and this time, I remembered.
Sunnycroft, located on the outskirts of Wellington in Shropshire, is a rare surviving example of a Victorian suburban villa. A sort of middle-class stately home, built by successful business men for their families and designed to show off their new found wealth. It was built 1880 and extended in 1899. The house remained in the same family, until its handing over to the National Trust in 1997. Sunnycrofts character and intimacy comes from it remaining complete with its original interior fixtures and fittings. Pictured: The grand staircase in the heart of Sunnycroft.

The strip of open canal stream disappears under a road and enters this huge Red-Brick Pipe, absolutely enormous in size!
As I cut through a small back alley in downtown Grimsby, Ontario yesterday morning, I spotted an early morning sunbeam glancing onto a red brick wall. Accenting the simple composition was a black security camera. A very simple composition. And doubtless my efforts have been recorded for posterity. And, of course, Red Rule applies. - JW

We visited the castle on a very hot day and spent most of the time in the welcome shade of the surrounding park.
Herstmonceux Castle is a brick-built Tudor castle near Herstmonceux, East Sussex, England. From 1957 to 1988 its grounds were the home of the Royal Greenwich Observatory. Today it is used by the Bader International Study Centre of Queen's University, Canada.

Otterbein University is a private university that offers 74 majors and 44 minors as well as eight graduate programs. The university was founded in 1847 by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ and named for United Brethren founder the Rev. Philip William Otterbein.
As a result of a division and two mergers involving the church, it has been associated since 1968 with the United Methodist Church. In 2010, its name was changed back from Otterbein College to Otterbein University because of an increasing number of graduate and undergraduate programs.
It is primarily an undergraduate institution with approximately 2,300 undergraduate and 450 graduate students on the campus. Otterbein has over 100 student organizations and a popular Greek presence. The school's mascot is Cardy the Cardinal and the school is a member of the Ohio Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III athletics. (Wikipedia)

Students in association with Audubon's Strawberry Plains are currently excavating the remains of seven share cropper homes found on the Strawberry Plains property.
The sites are being examined for their historical significance. The structures are thought to be as old as the late 1800s, and as recent as the early 1900s.
