A redtail scouts the banks of the South Canadian River in Norman, OK.

HDR from a single RAW.

This is the same hawk I photographed a week ago at Hell's Gate SP. Persistence paid off and I got some better photos. My feeling is this is a dark morph juvenile, but I'm open to opinions.

At the start of my walk today, this bird was flying high over me and the crows. The crows were paying attention to me, or more likely the pocket I keep peanuts in. On the way back home, this bird was in one of the trees, and my crows were paying attention to it! Even after the crows chased the hawk away, they still didn't focus any attention on me or my peanuts!
