A way they can 'defy' authority,
Drove down to the isle of Hoeksche Waard yesterday, just south of Rotterdam. A very rural and lonesome area, with just a few modest villages. Meadows everywhere, and fields used for as yet undefineable crops. It struck me that the younger generation peasants there had a thing going for old full size American cars. I saw one small house, where four 1980s Caprices were parked, all matte black. Many of these cars seemed to have home made exhausts. I trailed this whale of a convertible, that looked and sounded that it was time for a major service check up, for some time. When it stopped I theoretically had the oppertunity to ask for a photo, but when I saw the occupants I decided that the question might be regarded as improper. I could not see what kind of car it was, and have not checked the car license database so far, so your input is welcome here.
Before I forget, I also saw a bunch of Nissan Z's, one of which was painted in the fantasy colours of an American police department. I decided not to take pictures, since the rather noisy owners were having a ball outside of a café. It was time to head back to civilization.

I met these two guys in the parking lot of the local Walmart here in Martinsburg West Virginia. We got to talking and the younger of the two wanted me to photograph "his" truck as he was intrigued by my setting up to photograph some big rigs also parked nearby.
It was the dude on the right that suggested the title, btw!
I went to a tractor pull this weekend, but forgot to take my camera. I know how disappointed you (all) are not having a fresh load of tractor pics to look over.
To make up for it, I'm posting this photo of a genuine redneck birthday party taken at Hooters of Roseville last night.
The kid on the left is celebrating his... what ... 13th birthday ? Hey, I ain't got a problem with it. His mom's latest boyfriend sure looks to be having fun ! (who the hell smokes Newports? !)
