This little fox kit was right under my computer window checking out the red squirrel on the feeder...he was very very interested! They are growing very fast!

A curious red fox in Grand Teton National Park.

The foxes are growing fast, they were all out a bit ago, there are 4, one of them is lots smaller than the others and one of the bigger ones picks on him but he really stands his ground!

As I was wrapping up my workday and getting ready to step away from my desk, I looked out my window and saw this beautiful red fox just outside my house, walking on the road in the middle of a snowstorm. I don’t see foxes often, and I’ve only had the chance to photograph them a couple of times, so I quickly grabbed my camera and ran out into the snowstorm, forgetting to even grab a hat or gloves.

After following the fox carefully to the vacant house across the road, I saw it stalk around for a bit, until it pounced on the snow, emerging victorious with a mouse between its teeth. I managed to make this photo with its prize, right before it gobbled it up and trotted away.

“Is it Safe?”

Judy Royal Glenn Photography

This past summer, I enjoyed photographing a red fox. He was very cautious as he poked his head out of the shadows.

Yes, it’s safe little one—it’s just me.

The little brave one showed up this afternoon, it is cool and rainy and he didn't stay long, I had just gone out and thrown some mixed seed and cracked corn for the mallards and no sooner got back inside when this little one showed up.

I think he was hoping I put out some nice soft donuts but I didn't!!!! Too early and the crows would have taken them all!

Love the light for this one. Explored - July 5, 2013 - Thanks everyone!

I guess I didn't get out early enough tonight with food, this fox youngster was roaming around the yard and staring at me through the sliding door!

Last spring, I photographed some fox kits in a lady's yard. She was kind enough to let me photograph them.

They were so adorable. The momma moved them a short time after I found them:/

I looked out the window by my computer a short while ago and this is what I saw!!!!! You cannot imagine how excited I was! There were two little red fox kits out there eating!

In all the years we have been feeding wildlife this is the first time we have seen fox kits!!!!

This is why I do what I do, I spend a lot of money on food but seeing things like this makes it so worth it!

Not the best shots ever but I just had to share them with my friends on Flickr!!!!

Pair of Red Fox having a bit of fun in the snow.

Island Beach State Park, NJ

I love seeing what is out there every night, and this camera takes pretty darn good shots, and it is the only one I have seen that takes color night shots!

I hope you enjoy all the critters!

I don't ever see the foxes in the daytime, so what a surprise to look in the backyard and see him standing there, I suspect he was looking for a squirrel for breakfast, not a squirrel was around, they must have known he was there.

On the right is the patriarch of the group and he seems to be displeased with what is likely his daughter from this past spring. We watched as she squatted to mark a spruce bough so assuming a female. There were four foxes in the area.

Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario

We thought we had one fox in the neighborhood, but there is two. Maybe soon there will be 3?

Red foxes

Red foxes are non-native animals that were brought to California for fur and recreational hunting. They are considered invasive but sure are cute! They are the most widely distributed carnivore in the world. This isn't the greatest photo ever as it was actually getting dark and they are hard to get close to but it's my only photo.

When the potential for a meal is at hand tempers will flare, and foxes will battle for supremacy. Many females are busy getting ready for the birth of their kits about now. Mating occurs from December into January. Gestation lasts about 55 days. Kits will be born blind and unable to walk. It will be 3 to 4 weeks before they have matured enough to leave their dens. The parents, both male and female, will care for the kits. There may be other adults, usually young adults from the previous year, that have not yet dispersed and may also help care for the new litter. Red foxes have complex social relationships, perhaps some of the most complex of any fox. These relationships differ based on location, food sources and quantities, and proximity to humans. #iLoveNature #iLoveWildlife #WildlifePhotography in #NewJersey #Nature in #America #USA #RedFoxes #Foxes #DrDADBooks #Canon #PickYourPark #Photography #Picoftheday #Photooftheday
