A long day out in Gloucestershire hoping to see Short Eared Owls or maybe a Barn Owl. Unfortunately the Owls failed to show. Thats wildlife for you.

Considered an invasive species outside of the Indian subcontinent, these birds were probably the second most abundant land bird after the doves and Mynas (another introduced) in Tahiti. This bird was in fact being chased by a Myna before this picture was taken.
The red kite is a large, impressive bird of prey. Its rust-red colored plumage gives its name and with a height of around 65 cm it is larger than the common buzzard. His head is light gray and he has black and white feathers on the bottom. What is unique is the deeply forked tail, which distinguishes it from all other birds of prey.

The good news: I've had a very rare free morning to process images. The bad news: the memory card is full!
The change in seasons start slowly like this tree with a red top, soon enough all it's leaves will be red

Another red dress that I love to wear. Btw, this is an old photo and the ugly chair and couch are gone now ;-)
With my near abnormal love of amphibians and reptiles I was unable to resist a photographic workshop where I could get up close with these gorgeous creatures, I do however have a lot of reservations/issues about animals being used as props for hobbyists.
We continually searched for the red eye frog on our Costa Rican trip but as its a nocturnal frog only managed to catch it sleeping!

My other post-lockdown escape this week, an opportunity to give the car its first proper run in months, and to show a bit of support for a worthy cause.

The refraction came kind as a surprise because I made this one with a blinded window in the background. Must be the distorted window frame. I actually like it.
The last day of the training for the Red Arrows in 2015 over their base at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire. The weather wasn't the expected blue sky and sunshine for this mornings flying. Instead it was cloudy and dull. Never mind, still managed a few photos as they went roaring past.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment, and favoring my images. Enjoy the day.

Last of the beach related scenes I think. Interesting part of the country compared to my normal stamping grounds, rolling green landscapes, flat long beaches and big sky. The moody looking sky here turned into a major downpour a couple of hours later, which seems to have set the tone for the rest of this week. Summer seems to have been delayed (again)...
Yes, that little spec on the beach is the lump of driftwood from the last pic.
