For a few weeks in Spring and Autumn each year Redditch often looks glorious, as right now in this image taken in a supermarket car park. The Poplars and Field Maples are having their day, and since there are at least 20 trees per inhabitant, it can be a day indeed.
Special recycling bins have been installed at the top of the High Street for the duration of the festival season. Strangely, though, considering just how many fringe show flyers and other bits of paper the average person accumulates as they walk up the Royal Mile, the paper recycling bin isn't any larger than the others.
Bonnaroo did a great job of recycling. They had "Clean Vibes" attendants at most sites telling you if your trash was recyclable, compostable, or if it had to go to the landfill.

These christmastrees are made from newspapers and old papers. I added palymer clay buttons to make them more festive.
Vince took our recycling to the Weakley Lane recycling center. It was 51 pounds worth accumulated since early December. We recycle all cardboard, plastic, tin, and aluminum.
Based on previous trips, we calculated we keep about 60 bags of trash a year from going into the Middlepoint landfill in Rutherford County. We produce about a bag of trash every week that goes to the landfill. Imagine if every family did this.

This is a picture of the trash and recycling area in front of the biology building. This helps the environment because it gives people a place to put their garbage. This will cut back on the amount of trash that is on the ground around campus, which is harmful to the environment. Also, besides just a trash can, there are recepticals for paper and plastic so that they may be recycled and reused instead of just thrown into a landfill, which saves resources and therefore helps the environment.
The rally coincided with the Climate Change rally in Australia, but ours was really a Northern Gateway/Enbridge pipeline protest. We had the largest turnout in the country. Science Centre, Vancouver, BC

DNMY (texting shorthand for "denimy") is produced by recycling old jeans, with other recycled fiber added for color. This could be a good choice for machine washing (delicate), depending on how tight your fabric is. It has great drape at a light weight and seems to be quite durable. Recycle! Reuse! Rejoice!
