I took the before pic and photoshopped the wall and floor treatments on. This was my first time doing a concept sketch with photoshop. Not bad! I usually do interior work for our businesses so there was no need to show my concept to others.

Interplast (now ReSurge International) was delighted to welcome back actress Micky Hoogen (Raising Helen) and former MTV VJ and serial entrepreneur Adam Curry to this year's Transformations Gala on November 6, 2010. As masters of ceremonies, they delighted the crowd of nearly 500 guests at the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco.
Venture capitalist Russell Hirsch and his family were honored for their long-term dedication to helping the organization transform lives. Dr. Shafquat Khundkar, ReSurge surgical outreach director in Dhaka, was honored for his 20-years of service and ongoing commitment to the impoverished in Bangladesh.
More than $750,000 was raised to continue providing free reconstructive surgery for the poor in 14 developing countries.
The evening ended with a historic announcement. Gala guests were among the first to learn that Interplast was changing its name and identity to ReSurge International, but that's its mission to provide reconstructive surgery to the world's poor remains the same. 15 month-old Alicia was born with a bump on her upper lip which will be excised today. Our anesthesiologist "Ché" is cheering her up before taking her into the operating room.
Hi. I'm Sandi Walsh, one of the OR (operating room) nurses. This is my fourth Interplast volunteer surgical team trip, but my first one to Asia. The local nurses we have met here in Beibei, Chongqing are very friendly and eager to help. The kids are adorable and we are very busy. The language barrier is a bit of a problem, but through the help of sign language, demonstration and our trusty translators we are communicating very well. I send hugs and kisses to my family in London, Ontario, Canada. I am having a fabulous time – what a great adventure.
But similar. She wears an external fixator: this makes the leg rigid even though it is actually missing entire sections of bone. By using tapplying pressure on the bone during physio therapy and then adjusting the external fixator it can be stimulated to grow up to a millimetre per day, to five centimetres in total.. an extraordinary development.

Another common injury are traction injuries from the birth process. These injuries cause partial or full paralysis of the arm. Lam (pictured here) is gradually getting returning movement but is still unable to raise his arm up completely.

Khitam -right- was hit by a bomb in Fallujah. You can't see but plastic surgery has smoothed out a good part of the right hand side of her face. She wanted to be a teacher, now she wants to be a nurse. She says life is good.
Well, I don't want a sample, I'd like a real one, a fake boobie please, some time in the pretty near future after all the chemo, rads, Herceptin and shit are finished.
While his father looks on Qusay -from Basra- feels his way. Blind now in both eyes and his face reconstructed by surgeons he has not lost hope of seeing again. Both of his eyes were removed by American surgeons. Doctors told us that often relatives were reluctant to tell victims the full extent of their injuries. He writes beautiful poems and does not want to go back to Iraq "it has become a graveyard."
Heydi is indeed a brave girl. She had been all by herself and was crossing a small stream when she fell and cut her right hand on a glass bottle in the water. Since then, she has had difficulties grabbing and holding things. Today, when she got ready for surgery, she walked all the way to the operating room all by herself – Dad was sound asleep and she did not want him to be woken up. Instead, she bravely waited in the holding area until the doc came to take her into the operating room.
Detail of tree mural I painted. This was so fun I think I'll do it to my new place (whenever I get it).
