On our first day there, we met with local MDs screening children for possible surgery or hand therapy treatment.

The son, recovering from successful surgery, is still groggy and not so sure why his mother appears so happy.

It took two of us to pry the Metro's hatch up prior to removing it. Bumper is obviously already gone. The gas tank is kind of bent up, but undamaged enough to leave on.

Dr. Rosio repaired scars on children in Indonesia and helped teach reconstructive techniques to hundreds of doctors with video link satellite technology.

The Metro's rear end stripped down to the frame. The challenge: replace all of the damaged parts with zero-budget materials while maintaining street-legal status.

Note that the gaussian blur I've applied to this picture conceals some of the wounds to Fahmiyya's face.

This little girl had a vascular tumor on her lip and had never spoken until after Dr. Timothy Rosio removed it. Other doctors were afraid to perform the surgery due to the bleeding and potential for disfigurement. Her family heard about Dr. Rosio from his Epstein Photomedicine Institute for International Training and Research, and through his charitable surgeries through the Heal One Wound Foundation.

After the procedure, she almost didn't sleep and wouldn't stop talking for three days, as if she had to get out every word she had been holding back for the past three years.

Kelsey was attacked by a pitbull and suffered a disfiguring injury to her nose/eyelid area. She came to Dr. Rosio after hearing about his Heal One Wound Foundation.

Dr. Timothy Rosio arranged for St. Lucia girl and her mother to come to America to have reconstructive surgery to remove the large, thick birthmark from her scalp, forehead, nose and cheek as part of his Heal One Wound Foundation work. The 5 hour surgery required removal of skin from the scalp, forehead and nose, and sliding flaps of skin, including nose, cheek and forehead, together to hide incision lines.
