On Monday, November 25, 2019, USDA Rural Development Administrator for Rural Utilities Service Chad Rupe announced a $5.13 million investment in broadband infrastructure in rural Utah and Colorado. The grants, made through the ReConnect pilot program, went to Beehive Broadband of Lake Point, Utah for projects impacting Box Elder, Wayne, and Garfield Counties including the community of Snowville, Utah; and to Emery Telecommunications of Orangeville, Utah for a project impacting eastern San Juan County, Utah and Dolores County Colorado including the community of Dove Creek. These projects will be used to install fiber to the premises to allow for high speed broadband capacity in significantly rural areas. This will have a positive impact on schools, rural small businesses, and public safety. Joined by USDA Rural Development State Director for Utah Randy Parker, Beehive Broadband CEO Cameron Francis, and Emery Telecommunications CEO Brock Johanson, Rupe announced the investment will impact over 675 households over the scope of the projects.
16-Nov-2009, Jerusalem - Ethiopian Jews celebrate the Sigd holiday.
The Ethiopian Jewish community, called Beta-Israel, lived in seclusion for over 1,000 years, only reconnecting to the Jewish world in the late 20th century. According to Ethiopian tradition, their roots go back 3,000 years to the era of King Solomon. Like their brethren in many parts of the world, Ethiopian Jews suffered persecution for their beliefs and refusal to adopt Christianity. In the Middle Ages their lands were confiscated, villages plundered and many murdered. They were nicknamed Falash - intruders, homeless and without property. Despite the hardships, this community preserved their traditions with great devotion and generations were educated on the value of yearning for a return to Jerusalem, The Holy City, home of The Temple, pure and holy. The Sigd celebrations, Sigd meaning "to bow or prostate oneself", convey their love and yearning for Jerusalem.
Traditionally the celebrations took place on a hilltop looking toward Jerusalem, signifying a renewal of the bond with God. Now, with a community of over 150,000 in Israel the main event takes place annually at the Sherover Promenade in Jerusalem, overlooking The Temple Mount.Thousands followed the Kessim, the religious leaders, and gathered in the late morning hours in colorful traditional garments or in whites signifying purity, to pray and give thanks. Guests of honor included Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat.
The yearning for Jerusalem has become a reality. Israeli-born offspring to Ethiopian Jews are finding it more and more difficult to identify with the aspirations of their forefathers. First signs are evident that this ancient ethnic celebration of hope and faith might one day be forgotten.

“Our lives disconnect and reconnect, we move on, and later we may again touch one another, again bounce away. This is the felt shape of a human life, neither simply linear nor wholly disjunctive nor endlessly bifurcating, but rather this bouncey-castle sequence of bumpings-into and tumblings-apart.”

Reconnect with the natural world outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Boise on the Hulls Gulch Interpretive Trail. Hulls Gulch is a great place to learn about the unique natural history of the Boise Foothills and surrounding valley. To help maintain these qualities, the trail is for pedestrians only. Bicyclists and equestrians will enjoy other trail opportunities in the Ridge to Rivers Trail System.
Bring plenty of water and be prepared for desert conditions. The road past the 8th Street Trailhead can be pretty rough and at times may not be passible to regular passenger vehicles. The trail can also be accessed from the 8th Street Trailhead.

Reconnect with your putter with new Feeltec grips
Available from www.planetgolfuk.co.uk
The very latest in seamless golf club grip technology has arrived in the UK with the launch of Feeltec, a new range of grips designed exclusively for putters.
Featuring Seamless Optimized Technology, Feeltec grips have a durable 'ridge-free' design, creating an exceptionally tacky and comfortable feel that has already allowed them to notch up two top five finishes on the European Tour since reaching the UK June.
Feeltec grips' unique three-layer process features an environmentally-friendly 'Underlisting' covered by a second polymer 'Index Layer' which combine to absorb shock and create a firm response at impact.
On top of this is placed a revolutionary Seamless PU Wrap, delivering superior feel and high traction that really connects a golfer's hands with the putter.
Feeltec Ex-Series putter grips
The EX Series from Feeltec, featuring thumb alignment graphics, come in oversize, midsize pistol and standard paddle sizes and six colours
Feeltec putter grips perform brilliantly in wet weather and can be dried easily with a towel. Sweat absorbent, they're equally high-performing in hot weather and represent a quantum leap forward in putter grip design.
"Golfers would be surprised what a new putter grip can do to their game," says European distributor Paul Steels, who spent more than 20 years on Tour representing Golf Pride and Aldila.
"Feeltec grips are designed to help golfers lower their grip pressure, which leads to improved feel and control and the development of a better, smoother stroke and, ultimately, fewer shots per round.
"Putters are the most used but most neglected clubs, so fitting a new Feeltec grip is a great way to put the feel back into one of the most important clubs in the bag."
Feeltec Hawaiian Series putter grips
The colourful, standard-sized Hawaiian Series putter grips from Feeltec
Feeltec grips made their European Tour debut in The Wales Open at Celtic Manor and were well-received by players, going on to feature high up the leaderboard at the Alstom Open de France and Barclays Scottish Open.
With several players at the Ricoh Ladies Open at Royal Birkdale also expressing an interest, the grips are rapidly gaining a strong Tour presence, and now all golfers can enjoy the Feeltec experience with a comprehensive range of 25 patterns, colours and sizes.
The EX Series is available in six colours (black, grey, blue, red, orange and brown) and in three sizes, all featuring thumb alignment graphics - oversize, midsize pistol and standard paddle.
The incredibly smooth Marble Series features a design in which no two grips are exactly the same pattern and comes in the standard size and four colours (orange/white, red/white, green/white and blue/white). The standard-sized Hawaiian Series has an attractive laser-engraved flower pattern and is available in three colours (purple, pink and blue).
Feeltec grips are available from Pro Shops and selected retailers, priced around £10 each.
The XF-85 Goblin next to its mothership, the B-36 Peacemaker.
The Goblin was conceived as a parasite fighter that would be carried aloft by the B-36 and drop out from the bomb bay as a defense against enemy fighters. It had no landing gear and was extremely hard to reconnect with a trapeze onboard the Peacemaker. It was decided that if experienced test pilots had serious trouble mating with the mothership, combat pilots would certainly be challenged. It was also lightly armed and much slower than fighters the Soviet Union had, and the project was cancelled with only two Goblins being built.
The total cost was over $3.2 million (in the 1950s) and both Goblins combined flew a little more than 2 hours. In its defense, test pilots noted that in flight it was stable, easy to fly, and recovered well from spins.

talentueux sculpteur animalier contemporain.

It’s been a while.
After three days of relentless heat, these alien-like figurines caught the golden spill of evening sunlight as it poured into my studio. With the heat dome pressing in from outside, I took the chance to dust off an older camera body and reconnect with the fundamentals—working with what I have, where I am.
These small, colorful plastic figures—part sci-fi, part abstraction—became my subjects. They sat patiently on shelves and my workbench, offering shape, texture, and playful strangeness under the changing light. For several evenings I returned, chasing the way sunlight moved across the studio, trying to capture something honest: light, color, surface, moment.
In a way, this project isn’t just about photography. It’s about returning to old habits—some good, some complicated—and rediscovering the skills and curiosity that first drew me to this medium.
I've been part of this Flickr community since 2005. Over the past two decades, many of my creative paths have been shaped by what I’ve shared and discovered here. This small set of images is a step back toward that—toward making, toward seeing, and toward reconnecting.
