Because I'd just climbed over it. I was having a really weird and unpleasant day health-wise and hadn't intended to take a photograph at all, but saw this and nipped over the fence on the track to a farm building and snapped it with my phone. Then I painted it, of course ! Things are a bit better now, so here we are !
A bit late for Fence Friday but never mind, there are no fences in my picture LOL. Happy Fence Friday and all the days ahead everyone !

Words can’t describe the impression one receives while contemplating this ahu and its 15 gigantic sculptures, framed by a turquoise sea background with the sound of the waves crashing on the cliffs. Ahu Tongariki represents the maximum splendor of the island’s sculptures. With a ceremonial 220-meter long platform, it’s the largest structure of this nature in all of Polynesia.

The theme for "Smile on Saturday" for the 4th of January is "lit by candlelight", where the subject has to be illuminated by candlelight. I could have chosen many things, however I opted for a piece of jewellery, as I love the light reflecting sparkle of jewellery. In this case I have chosen a foliate late Victorian rose gold brooch featuring two spinels and a central citrine. Underneath the light cast by two tea lights set closely by it, the gold has taken on an even richer hue and the spinels a pinkish quality, whilst the citrine positively glows with amber gold candlelight. The brooch itself, being made in 1850 in Chester by the goldsmiths M&V (unable to find any information) is a lovely feminine example of a bar brooch. I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!

A friend and I ran into this Killdeer at the Esquimalt Lagoon last week. Unfortunately this bird is nesting right in the middle of a gravel path that receives a lot of walking/running traffic. I fear that the chances of successful nesting are really slim. I wonder if there is any statistics on their successful rate of nesting? There was 4 eggs on the ground. View large for greater details.
………Pressing ‘open’ doesn’t quite have the same pleasurable experience! Taken for Macro Mondays theme shot ‘Paper’ - Envelopes, the letter and the stamp are all made of paper and with little care will last for centuries, this one is from May 21st 1907 and the paper knife is a similar age too. Alan:-)……

Breast cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. It is considered a heterogeneous disease—differing by individual, age group, and even the kinds of cells within the tumors themselves. Obviously no woman wants to receive this diagnosis, but hearing the words “breast cancer” doesn’t always mean an end. It can be the beginning of learning how to fight, getting the facts, and finding hope.
Women in the United States get breast cancer more than any other type of cancer except for skin cancer. It is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer death in women.
Each year it is estimated that nearly 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. Approximately 1,700 men will also be diagnosed with breast cancer and 450 will die each year. The evaluation of men with breast masses is similar to that in women, including mammography.

PADDY: "Oh Scout! Welcome home from Mummy Marian's! Did you have a bice time playing with Aurora?"
SCOUT: "Oh thank you, Paddy! Yes, I did! We had a lovely time playing together!"
PADDY: "Well I'm glad you had a nice time."
SCOUT: "Oh I did! We danced too! Aurora enjoys dancing, and she likes my pink tutu: you know, the one I got from Father Christmas and the Christmas Bear!"
PADDY: "You mean the one you are wearing now, Scout?"
SCOUT: *Looks down.* "Why yes, I do mean this one, Paddy!"
PADDY: "I'm pleased she liked it, Scout."
SCOUT: "But whilst I was dancing, showing her that I can do a pirouette, I lost my balance and my nose hit Aurora's nose!" *Puts paw to mouth.* "But Aurora said that she didn't mind. In fact she liked it."
PADDY: "I'm sure she did, Scout." *Chuckles.*
SCOUT: "She said my nose was soft."
PADDY: "Well it is, Scout. It's very soft and snuffly."
SCOUT: "Well, even though we were having fun together, and we were having the bestest time EVER, I realised something very important, Paddy!"
PADDY: "Did you Scout?"
SCOUT: "Yes, it is very, VERY important!" *Nods seriously.*
PADDY: "Goodness, it must be very, very important if you are nodding like that."
SCOUT: "Oh it is, Paddy!" *Nods seriously even more.*
PADDY: "So what was it that you realised, that was so very, very important Scout?"
SCOUT: "I realised that even though Aurora is a very special friend, and that Peter is my very bestest allerbeste vriend in the whole wide world, EVER, and that I had such a wonderful day in the spring sunshine and the pretty crocuses in Mummy Marian's garden in the Netherlands, that there was always something missing. Well somebear was missing, really."
PADDY: "Somebear, Scout? Who?"
SCOUT: "You of course, Paddy! I missed you!" *Points to Paddy with paw.*
PADDY: "Oh I'm touched, Scout! Thank you! Well, I missed you too, even if you were only gone for the afternoon."
SCOUT: "Really Paddy?"
PADDY: "Really, Scout!" *Nods seriously.*
SCOUT: "Well, I missed hearing your voice, and your gentle presence."
PADDY: "Oh thank you, Scout. That is the loveliest compliment I think I have ever had!" *Wipes tear from eye with paw.*
SCOUT: "And I missed hearing all those stories about ye olden days when the world was black and white."
PADDY: *Stops crying abruptly.* "Scout I... err..." *Sighs.* it wasn't the world that... it was only the tell... oh never mind! Thank you Scout. May I have a snuffly kiss from you?"
SCOUT: "Of course you can, Paddy! When do I ever refuse a snuffly kiss?" *Gives Paddy a snuffly kiss.*
PADDY: "Thank you, Scout! I missed your snuffly kisses. Now, come along. Daddy is just about to serve afternoon tea."
SCOUT: "Oh goody! All that playing and dancing with Aurora has given me a grumbly tummy! Grumbly tummy, Paddy! Grumbly tummy!" *Rubs tummy vigorously.*
My bears Paddy and Scout have made very good friends with two bears in Holland called Peter and Oleg (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558... and www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577233464...) and their MummyMarian Kloon (on and off). Peter and Scout are very similar and have become best friends. Aurora is Nanuk's niece and lives with Mummy Marian after being blown there on a cloud from the North Pole, as both she and Nanuk are Polar Bears.
It is true that out of curiosity, little Aurora did go and explore Mummy Marian's garden, to see whether there was a Magic Portal, and she found it, but it was all overgrown. Jesus said in the gospels, "You can't put new wine in old wineskins". He was saying you can't go to a new level with an old way of thinking. For something new to happen, something has to resonate on the inside; your spirit man has to come into agreement with God and believe what the scriptures say. Psalm 115 says, "The Lord your God will increase you more and more."
In fact, Jesus said He came that we might have life to the full, in abundance, 'till it overflows. That means you're headed to three places; to a full life, an abundant life, an overflowing life. What type of container do you have ready to receive that overflowing life? If it's a little cup, it's time to get rid of that! You might think a barrel is big, but get rid of that, too! God has a barn load full of blessings in store for each one of you.
It's time to give God permission to increase you. God says that you are going to be most blessed. You're going to have the most peace, the most friends, the must fulfillment, the most resources, the most wisdom, and the most opportunity. Most blessed means you will not lack in any area. You may not have seen it yet, but if you'll stay in faith and make room, God says you're going to be the most blessed!
