Who remembers my little plastic piece of crap? Well....bad news....whilst I was in Rome I opened my bag and found it broken in two pieces that didn't want to fit together anymore.
Nothing to do. Dead. I felt exactly like a child without her toy.
Sometimes I get fond of objects as I do with some people. I'm not a materialist, I'm just inclined to humanize things I cherish deeply until almost feel something for them...and those who know me should know what my fifty was to me...
However I couldn't live without a fifty so I bought a new one....and since I've been so good I allowed myself to take a f/1.4.
After death always comes a rebirth.
Sure it is better, I need to practice with it though...and yet I miss my old crappy toy :)
This picture is for my best friend Lucilla...and as old latins used to say...."nomen omen"...in fact she is a little light in my life...thank you for the walk, for having been so patient, for having waited under the rain whilst I was fighting with this new toy to get something good, for having been my model, for being so lovely and graceful....but above all for being in my life :)

Currently I am only using the 50mm lens, basicly because I got concentrated on model /portrait shootings. I just wanted to see the result with 50mm, the nature that I usualy have shooted with either macro or 18-55mm..
Its been raining for a few days so we didnt get a chance to go out. Boo!! But meet our new friend, this is a "spin-off" of The Birth.

I am not too sure where I was in Alaska when I took this but I thought it would be a good time to share. Currently, there is a focus on the impact of global warming in Alaska. I would also like to show the impact of the many fires we have not only in Alaska but in many parts of the world. People lose property and so much of life is lost. I like what this photo represents. Yes, we have fires and they are destructive. But after the fires, there is new life.

Almost all the bulbous plants let their lovely “noses” appear on the early Springtime earth…The sunshine helps the lovely Crocus blooms to unveil their purple Beauty and those adorable, curly, golden stamens, so much loved by the bees!!
In 1985, the New York, Susquehanna and Western acquired the former Lehigh & Hudson River between Franklin and Sparta Junction, New Jersey. It already held title to the L&HR main between Franklin and the New York state line at Warwick, New York. The end game was to eliminate the congestion of the former Erie main line between Little Ferry and Campbell Hall, New York. By rehabilitating its own out-of-service main line over Sparta Mountain and upgrading the L&HR, it could accomplish its goal. In the meantime, there were customers to serve on the still-isolated line between Warwick and Sparta Junction. To power the local service, 48-year veteran RS1 252 was freshened up and moved to Sparta Junction, where it is seen starting its run to Warwick.
The awakening continues as the ferns begin to rise from their long sleep, providing not only the promise of fresh, lush green, but a brief culinary opportunity in some parts of the world referred to as fiddleheads. In fact, one of my good Flickr friends in Quebec talked about fiddlehead harvesting just yesterday...so Guy, here's a head start for you. Quebec, in fact, is known for its use of this delicacy, as is the state of Maine.
The harvesting obviously only occurs for a few weeks in early spring when the fronds are still curled up as shown. Typically, the ostrich fern is the primary source, a wonderful plant whose fronds ultimately reach a length of 4 feet or so. They abound here, and based on the internet prices for such ($10.50 USD/pound), I might be well advised to begin a home business.

Mt. Saint Helens in Washington State erupted in the most destructive volcanic eruption in recorded US history on May 18, 1980. At that time this landscape was covered by logs laid out like tooth pics in lines radiating from the blast, deep ash and pumice and it resembled the surface of the moon. Now, thirty-nine years later the land is covered with vegetation and young forest.

The processes we can watch in nature are incredible. The life, the birth, the rebirth. Amazing side of life is all around us.......

A esta toma le tengo muuucho cariño ya que fue de las primeras tomas que he hecho con filtros después de pasarme a la FF, un paso que tenía muchas ganas de dar y que ahora por fin estoy disfrutando, del maquinon, pues eso que sin hacer ascos a mi D7000 pues es la caña, definición, motor de enfoque, rapidez de disparos, ISOS totalmente controlables, en fin una delicia!!
Para disfrutar del estreno nos fuimos a las dunas de punta paloma, el cielo estaba amenazante, que es como a mi me gustan los cielos y sobre todo hacía mucho viento lo que ayudaba a borrar las huellas de la arena y a lograr un movimiento en las nubes más acusado.
Está tomada justo al atardecer cuando la noche ya llegaba y pese a ello usé un filtro Lucroit ND de 6 pasos.
En lightroom sólo tuve que subir las luces del primer plano y contrastarla y luego en photoshop igualar color y aplicarle un enfoque por frecuencias.
