Ventana Wilderness - A hopeful sapling, growing up against the burned bark of a tree that died in the Soberanes fire (2016). So much of this trip was about bearing witness to the immensity of destruction wrought by wildfires, and how nature struggles to recover for decades or centuries after they leave the headlines. In some places, the young growth amidst charcoal felt hopeful, but in many others, this was not the case - old growth does not recover so quickly, and mammals were virtually nonexistent on this trip. Sobering to see it up close.

The Laurel Ridge Daffodil Farm in Litchfield, Connecticut is a breathtaking seasonal display of tens of thousands of daffodils spread across 15 acres of rolling countryside. The farmâs origins date back to the early 1940s, when Remy and Virginia Morosani first planted 10,000 daffodil bulbs on their property. Over the decades, the plantings expanded, creating the stunning floral spectacle that now draws visitors from across Connecticut and beyond.
The Morosani family established The Laurel Ridge Foundation to oversee and maintain the daffodil fields, ensuring that future generations could continue to enjoy the display. The farm is open to the public during peak bloom, typically from April into early May, though access is restricted once the flowers fade for the season. Visitors are encouraged to wander through the fields, but there are a few rulesâno dogs, no picking the daffodils, and no picnicsâto preserve the beauty and integrity of the site.
The daffodil fields have become a local tradition, often described as a "rite of passage" for Litchfield residents. The farmâs location along Wigwam Road, about 1.3 miles south of Route 254, makes it a hidden gem tucked into the Connecticut countryside.

I woke up this morning and said, it's time for a change.. I got the new LeL head and then I grabbed Imperia's new shape for it.. I AM IN LOVE!! I made only micro adjustments.. I have the birth nose deformer on and I think i might of made my eyes a tiny bit smaller and I am a short chonky girl at heart so my body shape is my own, but for the most part the face shape is the same.

There has been a fire in Glacier National Park almost every year of its existence. The year with the most was 1936 (64 fires!) and 1964 was the only year with no fire on record. The summer of 2003 was the most significant fire season in the history of Glacier National Park. Approximately 136,000 acres burned within the park boundary. I'm not exactly sure which year this particular area burned but I believe it was from 2003 from the fires maps that I've seen. Although fires can be scary and deadly, they are necessary for a healthy forest.
The snow is almost all melted, the snowdrops and crocus have bloomed, the daffodil shoots have broken through the earth, and the birds are starting to nest. I think Spring has finally arrived!
