For some reason I just like this. Some may think, "The legs and feet should be cloned out" ... I did think of that and I think it takes away from the image. there's a graphic quality about it with the touch of humanity.

The bag is very high quality with many extra pockets including a cell holder on the strap.

They warned me it'd be cold -- but what a view!

Summer time is well and truly underway so there’s every reason to get out your sandals.

Whether you’re travelling on a holiday or just enjoying a stroll out in the sun, you’ve got ample choice for footwear this summer.

Sandals provide the perfect opportunity of you to showcase the key trends this season, including tribal, pastel and nautical.

We’ve picked out just a few styles that will be sure to put a spring in your step.

The Gladiator

Gladiator sandals are a staple for summer time wardrobes. You can easily find them in a range of colours and styles dotted along the high street, from full on straps to simple buckles. Here’s a few to get you motivated for summer sandals.

Hot step it in Havanas

Havanas are simple but elegant sandal, available in a range of colours and styles including a special line for World Cup. So if you’re felling patriotic, there’s a range of team sandals to keep you gunning for your country.

The Wedge

Wedges are a perfect style for summer, and are great if you fancy a little lift. They’re also versatile and can work well with a maxi dress, teamed with skinny jeans or with summer shorts.

Work it out with fitness sandals

The summer time, usually provides the motive to get moving and it’s not only at the gym where you can get a workout. Sandals such as Fit-Flops, Reebok Easy Tones and Sketchers Shape up, aim to give you a work out, while you walk.

A great night, thanks to all who came.

The main reason for the timing of our visit to Bhutan was the popular festival at Jampey Temple. It starts at night after a monks' ceremony by setting an arch of pine wood on fire. Unfortunately, night is -for obvious reasons- not a good timing for photography of quick action...so let's start with a still photo up a prayer flag pole into the sky.

The negatives box giveth more. This is a grainy old picture of Voice of Reason from Texas playing during the Fall of 1992 in some basement in Wisconsin. I had only been using a camera a year or two so the execution is not what it should be but I think it conveys the feeling of a basement show.

So for reasons that I won't go into, my previous (very ambitious) doll plans got a swift trip out the window because of above reasons. :'D Which basically means I said "F*ck it" and started over.

Here is Phoenix, reshelled as a redhead into an SD10 Megu on an SDGrG body. I call her 'Pea' for short, because I'm still high on Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and it sounds cute.

She's a work in progress for now. Her eyes are on order, she needs a new faceup (badly) and she's also suffering from Floptitis. (Aka floppy body syndrome.)

For the curious, she and Sayuri are not related in any way except for the fact that they represent two important icons in Chinese culture :'D Sayuri is the Dragon, and Phoenix is the fenghuang. Or phoenix. (Behold, my creativity at naming dolls!)

(ALSO THIS DAMN DRESS. The previous doll body I had gotten for Phoenix v1.0 was so frigging busty it couldn't fit. So, of course, I did the most sensible thing - I sold the body. :D BECAUSE DRESS > BODIES.)

Some people love competition as well as are interested arts in fighting or some kind of sporting activity, perhaps skills related to self defence as well as karate and jujutsu. Know more about fighting arts in this video.

Thank you!

Love, as if you were a child

Smile, no matter what they tell you

Don’t listen to a word they say

'Cause life is beautiful that way

Reason for solitude.

Haru: Vamos Bella, estou esperando rsrs

Bella: Não vou dizer o que você quer ouvir!

Haru: Vai sim rsrs.

Reason # 43? How many are there I wonder as clever as this one.

Cheney eats people too.....err...shoots them...

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been involved in some of the most egregious controversies during his political career. Most importantly, his extreme actions on women’s right to choose what to do with their bodies after the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson, the case that overruled Roe v. Wade, is an example of the extremism and polarization prevalent in American politics.

Since 2014, Paxton has been accused of several illegal activities. Texas indicted him for soliciting clients for an investment firm without registering with a state board. In 2020, a group of top aides for Paxton requested federal law officials investigate him for possible crimes, including bribery and office abuse. That same year, former executives in Paxton's office claimed they faced retaliation and intimidation after making allegations against him. In 2021, he refused to release the texts he had made during his visit to Washington, DC, for Donald Trump’s pre-insurrection rally. This led to a Texas Bar investigation of whether Paxton’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election based on false fraud claims amounted to professional misconduct. A disciplinary committee for the Bar filed a professional misconduct lawsuit against Paxton for his attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential elections.

In May 2023, the “Texas House committee investigating Paxton recommended that he be impeached and removed from office, citing a years-long pattern of alleged misconduct and lawbreaking. The Republican-led committee issues 20 articles of impeachment against Paxton.” The Republican-led Texas House voted 121-23 to impeach him. The state senate acquitted him. But his wife, Angela Paxton, a State Senator, refused to recuse herself. (Source: “Timeline: The legal woes of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton”).

In December 2023, thirty-one-year-old Kate Cox, a mother of two, filed a lawsuit to get an abortion for a non-viable pregnancy. Texas law does not allow for abortions after six weeks. However, the fetus was diagnosed with full trisomy 18, which is almost always fatal before or after birth. In addition, continuing the pregnancy put Ms. Cox’s life at risk. When a Texas court ruled that she could have an abortion, Ken Paxton threatened to prosecute “hospitals, doctors, or anyone else” who assisted in providing the procedure. He threatened first-degree felonies that could result in life in prison. Ms. Cox then decided to go out of state for her procedure.

If you do not support abortions for unwanted pregnancies, that is your right. But it is not your right to demand that everyone else agree with you. And the government should have no authority to make these decisions for women. They are not chattel. Having an abortion for any reason is a difficult decision to make for any woman. But that decision should be made by her and her doctor, not the state. Paxton’s threats are inhumane. And his actions are perfect examples of the Republican Party’s drift towards authoritarianism.

Americans have lost confidence in their government. We no longer trust our legislators and the Supreme Court to solve our country’s problems: income inequality, affordable health care, a woman’s right to decide what’s best for her health, the economy, and climate change. Governance has become a series of battles. It’s no longer just political ideology. We are at war over cultural issues while our politicians ignore our basic needs. And we’ve lost faith in our country’s institutions when ersatz news organizations like Fox knew Donald Trump lost the election but promoted voter fraud to get ratings.

The morals of our GOP legislators and their sycophants are just as important as their economic policy. How can we trust a party that Alex Patton, a Florida-based Republican consultant and pollster, has characterized as a party that “has become mean and driven by emotion on whom we dislike.”? “But,” he says, “that is the driving force in American politics right now.” That is the driving force of the GOP, not the Democrats. This is not an example of the equality of “bothsidesism.”

In my essay, “ It’s Time to Release Our Own Kraken!" I outlined the history of the Republican Party’s “below the belt” tactics. They continue to be underhanded to this day. But with the low level of civility in our present polarized country, many Republican legislators now in office have hit new ethical lows.

As a visual artist who has spent over a decade creating posters about the sorry state of American political discourse, this year I began a new series of portraits, "Faces of the Republican Party." The men and women in this series deserve to be taken to task for their unwillingness to compromise, belief in conspiracy theories, and disdain for the LGBTQ+ community, women’s rights, and our children’s education. The purpose of our government is to solve our nation’s problems. It’s not a place for personal vendettas or manufactured cultural issues.

“Faces of the Republican Party” is not a partisan series of portraits. Merriam-Webster defines the word as “a firm adherent to a party, faction, cause, or person, especially one exhibiting blind, prejudiced, and unreasoning allegiance.” The people depicted in these images are the partisans. Instead, my series is a documentary and op-ed showcasing the facts in 2022. All of them had a hand in trying to overthrow the government. These images are MAGA Republicans who put their blind allegiance to Donald Trump and their careers ahead of the needs of the American people.

Republicans are perfect examples of Patton’s “driving force.” This force is dirty, mean, misogynistic, selfish, and wastes our tax dollars. These people are just a small sampling of individuals responsible for the loss of credibility and faith in America’s institutions. And worse, they couldn’t care less.

Return to London Town Festival (previously Camden Town), www.returntocamden.org/.

Country: Ireland. Style: Traditional Irish Folk.

Lineup: Johnny Óg Connolly (melodeon/button accordion), Clíodhna Costello (banjo), Padraig O Dubhghaill (g).

This trio play the music of Connemara. All live now in Galway. Johnny Óg Connolly was born in Preston (though his family moved back to Ireland seven years later), Clíodhna Costello in North Tipperary and Padraig O Dubhghaill in Inverin in the Connemara Gaeltacht. Connolly usually performs on a 2-row Button Accordion, but only played this on one set of tunes. He has recently been playing more Melodeon (the name is restricted to the 1-row instrument in Irish music) in honour of his father who no longer plays for health reasons. I saw father and son together at this festival in 2015 (www.flickr.com/photos/kmlivemusic/albums/72157660488750821/).
